A historical home within easy walking distance from great shops and restaurants.
Fantastic breakfasts with something different each morning.
Casual and relaxing atmosphere with nice outdoor areas to enjoy.
Friendly owners who are knowledgeable about the home’s history and willing to share.
The location of the property was very good for our purpose. Close to the Casino, downtown Charles Town, and Harper Ferry.

Good location in a very historic building. The new owner could be more open and welcoming. His dress loose gym shorts and dirty T-shirt are not welcoming and do not suit the class of the building
The Carriage House was beautiful in a cute, historic area. I was impressed with the cleanliness and how helpful and accommodating the staff were. Breakfast was delicious too.

Dislikes: I didn’t like the mile high bed. Light in the room was dim. Heat settings are controlled centrally by the proprietor. We were in the sunrise room; we had to go down 3 steps to use the bathroom which was odd. My spouse killed a large spider in the bathroom. Amenities were few. Things I did like: the history of the Inn is very interesting , location was good. Breakfast was good, but different (breakfast meatloaf). Overall, I didn’t get the warm cozy charming vibe I was hoping for.
We had a nice overnight stay. This was exactly what we were looking for due to it's close proximity to Harpers Ferry and Antietam. The town and the inn were quaint and charming. We didn't spend enough time to fully appreciate the location, but the inn had everything we needed and has been kept up very nicely with some added modern conveniences. Breakfast was good but not great.
The place is absolutely beautiful. The setting is perfect. The staff was kind and helpful. Here are a few little things that would have made it a perfect experience. The breakfast on both days was original and interesting. However, it was supposed to be hot not like warm. Outside of our room by the water station was a tray of dirty cups that was there untouched for three days. It may seem petty but our bathroom had only a single roll of TP that was almost used up. The mentioned complementary drinks were not there and the handle on the fridge was broken. The pointed out details are things I can observe but they make you doubt whether all other things were taken care of that you have to trust: You trust that sheets and towels are fresh. You simply trust that everything has been reset to welcome you as a guest. I really loved the place but these things disappointed me.
We had a wonderful stay! The innkeepers were so friendly and helpful. It was fun to learn the history of the house, especially since the were so into the history. Donnie is an excellent chef and made a wonderful breakfast for us. We were only there for one night since we were visiting our son and he only had one day off. We would definitely recommend as a place to stay for one night, or much longer. Charles Town was a cool place to visit and there are several towns around with fun downtown areas and a lot of historical sites it that is your thing.

Warm and friendly welcome; a very comfortable and tastefully decorated room; and a lovely breakfast too.
The owners were very gracious and accommodating to our needs. Great breakfasts and gave us new food options. They were also very informative of the historical information of the area that greatly helped research of family history.
Jonathan and Yvonne were wonderful hosts. The property has a rich, interesting history. It was well maintained. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant and breakfast was wonderful. I know that here I’m staying when I visit again. Would definitely recommend.
We stayed just one night at the Carriage Inn, but Yvonne and Jonathan made us feel so welcome it felt like much longer. The inn is charming, our room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. A perfect quick getaway - we’ll be back!
It was an amazing stay. Started each morning with a delicious breakfast. Yvonne had homemade cookies and brownies out throughout the day- yummy.
The inn had a lot of historical charm. The location was perfect for our adventures.
Yvonne and Jonathan- thank you so much for your hospitality.
My husband and I loved staying here and would stay here again if ever in the area. The rooms are very clean and the learning about the history of the home and town was a bonus. And the home cooked breakfast was to die for!
