Villa Rita was more like a resort than a hotel. We enjoyed the pool and most of the meals. The proximity to the ruins and to the beach were important to us. One complaint: The method of choosing breakfast or dinner was confusing.
Breakfast for 10 Euros was tasty, but not generous in portions. The American coffee and the orange juice were truly terrible. Hot Chocolate and other juices were excellent. Dinner in the evening was delicious. The room was simple ala Motel Six and comfortable; the pool and area around it were very pleasant for reading and relaxing. Staff was most helpful and friendly. Excellent location for arrival by train and walking to the archeological site.
We had a great time! Perfect location to see the ruins, walk to the beach, and taste/eat fresh mozzarella! It was quiet because we went off-season and we enjoyed a nice dinner and breakfast at the restaurant.
Nice location and friendly staff, family owned business which showed the commitment to help guests. Walking distance to Paestum, a marvellous historic sight, a must visit! The bedding and towels were perfect. Good in the restaurant was yummy.
Wonderful villa/ hotel to stay in. Staff very efficient & attentive. Helpful, hard working. Place was very clean. Easy walking distance to beach, ruins, restaurants.. good breakfast. Excellent restaurant for dinner.. beautiful pool area. Will stay again
This is a beautiful hotel in the countryside with lovely rooms, a great dining area and a swimming pool. Yet, it is also very well located and a very easy walk to the Greek Temples and the beach. The dinners they served were excellent and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. It is a very relaxing place to say.
I loved everything about this hotel. The atmosphere and unique collectibles in the breakfast room were fascinating to look at. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The host was so warm and friendly and made us feel like we were at home. The breakfast was delicious with a great selection to choose from. I can't wait to come back again.
This was a perfect overnight accommodation for us to stop and visit the Paestum Archaeological Park, traveling up from Sicily to Naples. The room was just what we needed. The staff were super kind and helpful. They offered a nice dinner in their restaurant, and breakfast was included the next morning before we walked just a few minutes down the road to the park and were permitted to leave our car there so we would not have to pay additional parking fees!
We arrived early at the hotel and we're allowed to park at the hotel while we walked to the ancient Greek Temples which were an easy walk from the hotel.
The hotel had beautiful grounds and a nice swimming pool.
The room was nice and clean, but simple.
We atedinner and it was delicious, as was the morning breakfast.
All in all a great stay and we would do it again. If you are going to see the Temples, it is worth a stay.
This is a hidden gem near the Paestum ruins. We so enjoyed everything about the hotel - proximity to the World Heritage Site, the beautiful swimming pool, the excellent food (not included), the cleanliness of the hotel, and the friendly, helpful staff. This is a generational family business and they take pride in the quality of the hotel and the service. Relaxing, lovely.
This property is charming. The pool area is beautifully laid out. We spent a week there and found the staff to be very polite and helpfull and the owner is on site and is also very helpful with lots of help and informaton about the local area. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The Villa Rita is within easy walking distance of the archaeological park and the beach. I would go back there like a shot.
Pleasant home like atmosphere in traditional Italian country house, a change from standard hotels. Within walking distance of the Greek temples & museum, a major advantage on busy weekends. Very good breakfast. Air conditioning & refrigerator not very cold. Nice high ceilings in rooms.

Not bad just not great . Clean beds. Ok for a 1 night stay , needs to pay more attention to details
This hotel is a true gem! It is like living in a beautiful art gallery and garden combined!! Regarding the complaints about having to pay a measly €3 for a pool cap, no complaint should be made. Wearing a pool cap is standard in Italy and it’s purpose it to keep things cleaner and more sanitary for everyone!! I highly recommend this place and definitely would go back in a heartbeat. Couldn’t be more convenient to the archeological park.
Nice hotel with lovely grounds and pool area. Room had good AC and a small shower with amazing water pressure. Check-in was a bit slow and disorganized, but staff were friendly enough to. Restaurant is quite good, an important consideration as there are not a ton of options nearby unless you have a car. Easy walk to the Paestum archaeological park.
Pool patrons are required to wear a bathing cap (these can be purchased at the hotel — helpful for those of us who hadn’t seen one in decades).
Breakfast was very good, with lots of choices and good coffee. Dinner at the restaurant was also well worth it, particularly the pineapple ice cream crumble dessert.
Would definitely recommend this property.
The Hotel is a short walk from the spectacular Archaeology Museum and Excavations, and is set back from the road. Absolutely quiet, with comfortable lounge seating and pool, in a family environment. Very welcoming.
