L'Arcada de Fares

"Spacious and cool apartment in a small complex. The kitchen is small but has two cooker rings, a fridge, kettle and microwave. There is an oven in the shared section together with a washing machine, dryer and big freezer. The on-site restaurant is good, set meals only and only open for dinner at the weekend when we were there. Breakfast available every day if pre-booked. A nice pool that was popular with families. A 10 min drive into Banyoles for main shops. Overall, a good value place for a few days stay, or longer."

"We visited for a triathlon so the area was very busy. There is a free car park available which was full at times. It was also exceptionally hot. The air conditioning was very effective. The rooms were clean and reasonably well equipped. There was very little storage. The bed was comfortable. It was a 15 minute walk to the supermarket and the old town. The hotel does not allow bicycles in the rooms but there is an excellent, secure bicycle room with a selection of tools available. We were directly over the restaurant and heard very little noise from below. The rooms lacked character but were perfectly placed on the lake front."

"A nice, good value hotel in a great location for walking, medieval towns and the Yellow Train. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were disappointed that the spa was closed while we were there (staffing problems). The room was very quiet, clean and comfortable although our shower was a bit cramped and awkward to use."

"What I would call a nice old-fashioned hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful but spoke very little English. Google Translate was a massive help. The room was clean large comfortable with doors to balcony which overlooked the car park car parking was free of charge. Hotel has a bar where drinks were available but no restaurant breakfast was continental with an excellent choice even had English breakfast tea although we were only there for one night while my partner was crossing the Pyrenees on his bicycle thoroughly recommend."
