"Hotel very quiet as we were there out of season. Nice welcome, pleasant staff. Our room was quite old fashioned (but is is a very old hotel so in keeping with that) but big with a comfortable king size bed, plenty of drawer space, but only space to hang clothes on a rail or hooks in the corner of the room. We had a setee, TV, a tea/coffee station with biscuits. We had 2 oil heaters in the bedroom which were needed as the room was quite cold even though the old fashioned radiator was on, it was in a bay window and behind the thick curtains at night. We had a large ensuite bathroom which was up 2 stairs. Very clean but both the bathroom light and the shaver light did not work. We informed the staff and they double checked immediately and then offered us to change rooms as it wouldn't be fixed until Monday. We were quite happy to stay in the room and manage but they couldn't apologise enough. Resteraunt/bar area very nice. Food was good but limited menu. Breakfast was OK, choices of juice, teas, coffees, cereals and jams, toast and several choices of cooked breakfasts. We didn't have a long wait to be served as we were the only guests eating/drinking and staying at the hotel. Hotel car park is over the road but it not very big and can get busy in season as the public can park there too, so give your registration number on your arrival. Bus stop just by the hotel, 2 minutes to walk into the village. Plenty of local footpaths. Beddgelert station 2 mins away. "

"The hotel is ideally situated for exploring north wales. From check in to check out our weekend stay was excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We ate in the bar and the restaurant and can recommend both. Breakfast is self serve with a good selection of options. The building was well heated and the rooms were comfortable. This was a second visit and definitely won’t be the last."

"An excellent Guest House run by the ever helpful Jan, who keeps the whole house immaculate. Easy parking outside the house in quieter months and a short walk away in busy times with the supplied permit from Jan. The house is central inside the town walls and so only 5 mins walk to the Castle, shops and pubs. "

"The whole hotel was spotless. The rooms were quiet, I slept very well, and the food was amazing. We were visiting from Houston, Texas, and would definitely like to visit again. "

"The cottage was a disappointment. It was described as “superb, beautifully decorated, tasteful, and with the ability to take a long bath “none of these were true. The cottage is cheaply and minimally, furnished with very limited amenities, there was no hairdryer, no firewood, and no heat upon arrival. It was very cold and it took 24 hours for the heater to be effective. The back garden is unattractive and unwelcoming. There is very limited water pressure making it impossible to take a bathtub soak. We paid for linen and each one of us got one small thin towel and one hand towel to last us for five days . The master bedroom door does not shut, some electric outlets do not work, the floor in the kitchen is rubber, warped, torn and uneven. It is sad to see how the owner has neglected this property. It is very low value for money as there are many similarly priced holiday lets nearby that are much nicer, and unfortunately, they were unavailable for our stay. We have stayed in numerous holiday lets all across Wales, and this was the absolute worst .Despite the owner’s neglect of the property, the housekeeper was extremely helpful and responsive. The communication with the owner however, ranged from minutes to 9 hours. "
