Looking NE along Stratton Road Stratton Road connects Stratton Strawless with Buxton.
Entrance to Dudwick Estate. This is the access road to Dudwick House and Dudwick Cottage which also serves as a public footpath. A cattle grid prevents livestock from straying, and the gate beside it provides access for walkers. A sign attached to the gate asks walkers not to leave the footpath. The public footpath starts here > 518149.

In the field beyond Buxton Road once stood the gallows, erected by Lord de Dudwik, owner of the Dudwick estate in the 12th century, who had been given the right to hang criminals by the King.
