The smell in the unit was overpowering. It was like a mouldy carpet smell that permeated everything from the lounge to the bedding. We opened all of the doors and windows but the smell didn’t dissipate. It was so bad that our clean clothing we took with us had to be washed when we got home because the smell got into everything.
The beds were as hard as the floor. There was no give whatsoever. I've never experienced anything like it. Both beds were like sleeping on solid ground. Angela at the front desk had mattresses toppers put on the second night but they were as thin as a doona so didn’t really help. She was lovely though.
The first night when we arrived I told the reception about the beds but she said there was nothing they could do about it but possibly the following night. We were sent to our room's assigned parking spot but there was another car in it. I called the hotels number and was told to move to a different spot. When I went to the desk to tell her about the issue with the beds, she said she knew why someone was in our spot and that we couldn't park in the new
spot we were given and needed to move our car to the 4 hour visitor parking for the duration of our stay.
Angela was lovely but the rest of our experience was the worst hotel encounter we've ever had.
