Casa del Lago is comfortable and beautiful, located on picturesque Lake Gaston - a fantastic place to get away, relax, enjoy nature, and have fun. Every level of Casa has stunning views of the lake with porches on all 3 levels, including a screened-in porch. It is just steps away from the water with easy accessibility and a gradual slope to almost 140 feet of lake frontage! We have a large, beautiful dock with Internet located in a protected cove so your family can swim without concern of boat traffic. It has a large swim platform you can swim/jump/fish off of and an upper sun deck for you to enjoy the sun and incredible views! It also has a jump gate and platform for extreme fun. You don't need a boat to enjoy this lake as we provide Kayaks and Stand Up Paddle Boards for you to get out on the water for further fun in the sun and nature. If you bring or rent a boat, we are very blessed to have over 14 feet of deep water at the dock and in a cove that protects your boat from wakes as well as a private community boat ramp to launch from. This spectacular home is located on Great Creek, which has a 2.5 mile long watersport lane and is only 8 min from Interstate I-85. You will not have to fight boat traffic here at Great Creek!

First, your getaway starts immediately with easy, contactless check-in. Just punch in your entry code and your vacation begins! Couldn't be easier.

Second, there's tons of fun to be had, inside and out! We provide water toys in the form of two kayaks and two stand up paddle boards with adjustable paddles and required universal life jackets! We have set up the home with 5 entertainment areas and, of course, we provide high speed internet for everyone to enjoy in the home and on the dock. The first is the main living room with a 65 inch smart Roku streaming TV with a BluRay/DVD player and Youtube TV. The second area is a cool Theater Room in the lower level with another large smart TV with BluRay/DVD player, sound bar system, Youtube TV, and theater seating! Also on the lower level is a card table area and electric dart board. Out in the large parking area is a ping pong table, corn hole game, game of horseshoes, frisbee game of Kan Jam, and a basketball goal where you can showcase all your skills. At the end of the day, you can bask in the hammock watching the sun set or around the lakeside fire pit seeing the lovely night sky fill with bright stars, roasting hot dogs, marshmallows for s’mores, and singing songs or telling ghost stories; use the stack of free wood or buy your own.

Third, after all that fun, we all want to sleep well on vacation! Casa del Lago sleeps 20 comfortably, meaning each room has a fan and everyone has a proper bed - no pull outs! All beds are super comfortable with cool gel memory foam, including the twin beds in the bunk room. This is our family home and we want all our guests to get a great night's sleep. With 6 bedrooms, including two masters, there is also plenty of room and privacy for everyone, the most private being the huge king room with the cool, spiral staircase!

Finally, we try to anticipate your needs. The kitchen is set up with everything you need plus there is a large Weber grill for grilling on the main deck, which is very large and set up with a big, comfortable table for outdoor meals lakeside. This is our family's home that we use and wish to share with others. We keep our house to a very high standard so that we and our guests can have the best experience at Casa del Lago. It is a great, fun, well-maintained, and clean property for everyone. We ask guests to treat our home as a home and not a rental. Lake Gaston is a vacationer's dream! Located on the border of Virginia and North Carolina, it is roughly 35 miles long and covers over 20,000 acres with 350 miles of shoreline. It has an average depth of 40 feet but is 95 feet at its deepest point. Bounded by the Kerr Dam and Gaston Dam, it is a managed lake and therefore its water level fluctuates within only one foot under normal conditions year round. Lake Gaston is fed by water from Kerr Lake upstream and supplies water to Roanoke Rapids Lake and the Roanoke River downstream. Heading north, you can enter the river portion of Lake Gaston in about 20 minutes from Great Creek. The river offers miles of calm, deep water and straight runs for water sports. And, the water flowing from Kerr Lake is cool and refreshing even in the summer.

With virtually no pollution, Lake Gaston water is almost drinkable without treatment (having the highest water-quality rating in eastern US by both states: High, Level II rating). The lake is popular for fishing and other water recreation such as swimming, boating, tubing, kayaking, water skiing, wake boarding/surfing, and jet skiing. Lake Gaston is well-stocked with game fish, which include largemouth bass, striped bass or rock fish, crappie, sunfish, carp, and several varieties of catfish. Other species of fish sometimes caught are walleye, yellow perch and chain pickerel. A valid license for either Virginia or North Carolina permits fishing from a boat in either state. We give our guests permission to fish from our dock. And don't miss the Rosemont Winery nearby, which is open year-round for tastings and events.
