Blue Owl Tiny house
This off-grid cabin is powered by solar which will run the lighting, small fans, charging devices, etc.. There is no refrigerator so please bring a cooler. There is an indoor regulated propane stovetop and a new gas barbeque outside giving you flexibility for preparing meals. We provide potable water for drinking and cooking and there is a gravity flow shower/outdoor sink (not operational during freezing temps) The outhouse is in close proximity.
The 250 sq. ft. cabin comes equipped with a queen sized bed, kitchenette, dining table, and reclining sofa. We've stocked it with most items you'll need for cooking including dishes, pots, pans, utensils, oven mitts, cutting board, glasses, mugs, etc. Bring your food, beverages and a cooler. The kitchenette is equipped with tea towels, dishcloths and scrubbies. We provide the mattress pad for the bed, please bring your own (queen size) bedding and pillows. We have a single cot available if there's a third person in your group.
There is a TV/DVD combo in the cabin and a small selection of DVD's at the property's common area for guests to access. There is no Wi-Fi although cellular service is good.
The multitude of trails (over 10 km of them) make for interesting hikes or bike riding. We're pet friendly, so bring your dog.
A couple of pre-printed scavenger hunts provide plenty of reason to look up in the trees and down on the ground to locate various hidden treasures, and have proven quite popular. The pond area is a pleasant place to explore. Speaking of exploring, you may want to pack rubber boots and bug spray due to the wet season we've had!
Depending on the time of year, there are several species of naturally occurring wildflowers visible along the well groomed trails such as Indian Paintbrush, Tiger Lilies, Marsh Marigolds, Wild Iris, Milkweed, Black-Eyed Susans, and more. The Saskatoon berries are plentiful in the early summer and the forest will takes on a red tinge later in the summer when the Cranberries emerge.
Though the rental cabins have their own lawn chairs, tables and firepits, there is a common area where we provide outdoor games, large fire-pit and seating areas.
We have a second cabin Micro Cabin in the Secluded Forest. If your date is booked, try it. Or better yet, get your friends together and book both!

Beautiful location away from noise. Very peaceful setting. The Host's, Sharon and Bob are fantastic host's. This was our third visit and we will be back again. The work they puti to the cabin is evident.
My husband and I, our 5yo daughter, and our big dog enjoyed a few blissful nights in the Blue Owl house. It was wonderful. It was as close to camping as you can get, without sleeping in a tent. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the trails around the property were fun. We liked it so much we will plan to be back next year!
A must see to get away from the city and enjoy the sounds of nature and minimalistic living.
The dogs truly are at peace here and get the best nights sleep by walking the trails all day long.
Bob and Sharon are wonderful hosts and easy to talk to. The property is MORE than what you’d expect and very dog friendly. We had a fantastic time. Thank you again!
This was so much fun! The check in was awesome & great to chat with the owners. The place was clean & adorable. Walks were amazing! Over all loved it!
Thank you♥️
This was our third year coming here for July long. Never a dull moment.
There is so much to do on the property and in/around town. Such a relaxing place even with a toddler! Will certainly be keeping this little tradition ❤️
Thank you Bob & Sharon
Nestled amongst the birch and poplar trees The Blue Owl cabin provided a modern-day rustic accommodations for me and my adventurous cat. We cooked homemade meals, swung in harmony with the birds and breeze on the hammock, and followed the well-groomed trails for berry picking. Sky-gazing was my favourite past-time, and I miss the feeling already! This is one of those places you want to tell everyone about, and at the same time keep it a secret. Bob and Sharon are compassionate and generous hosts who clearly love nature and hosting us there.
We are always so excited to stop over at the Blue Owl.This year was our third visit. We love that it's so private and homey. Everything we need is there plus the fanciest outhouse ever! We travel with our Dogs who absolutely love all the trails and explore each one over and over again. We were able to Self -check in but Bob made sure to connect with us once the cleaning was done and to make sure we had everything we needed. Made good use of the movie lending Library too.Beautiful starry nights and a fire pit.Exactly the way we remember each time ...like a home away from home when we travel west.

This was a truly satisfying wilderness experience in the woods! Very clean, well situated, extremely quiet, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities and lack of in this cabin. It was great to experience the great outdoors at this venue. The hosts were exceptionally kind, considerate and welcoming. I would highly recommend this adventure to one and all. It reminds you of how much we take for granted. Thank you to our hosts!
Wonderful hosts. Beautiful and comfortable little cabin. Decor was so cute and whimsical. So many trails to explore with my dogs. Glorious woodlands and so peaceful. I felt there was no one in the world but myself , my dogs and the sight and sounds of the forest creatures. The best experience I have ever had. Thank you Sharon and Bob for creating this little piece of heaven.
Bob and Sharon are the best hosts!!! They helped me find their property and were waiting at gate to escort me to the cabin. The cabin was so lovely peaceful and cozy. The groomed trails are a hiker’s and biker’s delight with kms of awesome terrain and scenery. The hosts were always available and so quick to help with any questions. My doggo was in canine heaven running outdoors and chasing blowing leaves! This place is a sanctuary and very well cared for and maintained. Highly recommend this beautiful spot! Thankyou Bob and Sharon for such a tranquil weekend!!!
My family of 3 and our dog stayed at the Tiny Cabin in July and loved it!
The hosts were wonderful! Very friendly and helpful!
The cabin was clean and lots of room for my family. The out house is not far (it’s very clean) and love that there is a porta potty next to the cabin for late night emergency nature calls! 😉
We walked up and down the trails while we were there. Even tried the bikes! It’s a lovely place to be. Very quiet and well maintained.
Thank you to our lovely hosts for the wonderful experience. Hope to be back again next summer!
The Blue Owl Tiny House was quite lovely, clean and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the trails throughout the property. They were well marked and had whimsical touches that made it even more enjoyable!
This was our 4th year in a row staying here for July long with our 5 year old..and we will be back next year as well! We love this little piece of heaven!
Perfect little cabin for a getaway. The owners met me at the hwy the first night to help with directions. The owners responded quickly to any questions and went above and beyond always. Cutest decor and lovely privacy. Highly recommended.
