"The hotel needs extensive updating. Yes probably 100 years ago it was exclusive and upmarket. And yes the Queen and many famous people stayed, But they wouldn’t step foot inside now as it’s so run down. If the hotel had a refurb it would be amazing but unfortunately it’s very dated. The room was like going back in time 50 years ago everything including furniture and TV was so old. It’s not cheap to stay either we could have stayed at Hampton Hilton for cheaper. However on the positive side Breakfast was very nice. Was disappointed had to pay £14 to park vehicle in the hotel car park overnight also."

"The room we were given was noisy and this disturbed our sleep. We could hear hand dryers going off at 11pm. There was a constant noise throughout the night which sounded like the bathroom fan was on. Not ideal when you have a 3 year old child. Disappointing stay this time due to lack of sleep. "

"Good bits: - Location was ideal - Good sized kitchen - Bedding comfy Not so good bits: - Room very hot, heating off and no idea where aircon was?! - Bathroom dusty, all round mirror, lights and sides - Bin disgusting, top had food stuck to it on arrival - Blind dirty and marked - Communication poor, the 24 hours a day WhatsApp they encourage you to use took 12 hours to reply - Room key wouldn’t work, went to reception, no one there so had to wait 10 mins - Whole place has chipped paintwork and needs a lick of paint, certainly not value for money"

"Our dog friendly room was perfect! We even had our own little garden. Room was spotlessly clean with a huge bed. Extremely dog friendly. Staff were helpful, friendly and very attentive. Breakfast was lovely. Enjoyed our stay here very much. We will always stay here now when we visit Lytham. "

"Overall a great place for families with pleasure beach being about 15 min walk. Tram stop located within 5 minute walk also provides access to the whole of Blackpool. Staff very friendly and helpful nothing was too much of an ask. Both breakfast and the food menu our very limited and there isn’t much variety. This is same on kids menu. Hotel was very clean and modern. Room itself is standard size clean with a big bathroom. Very clean and modern again. Only downsize is there isn’t much storage room. Our toilet seat was faulty but when we mentioned it they where quick to apologise and said they’d get maintenance to sort it. Parking is limited and if you want to park in the car park it’s £12 pounds a day. There is free parking outside the hotel on the road but it’s very limited . Overall though excellent value for money and a pleasure staying. "

"On booking the St Ives Hotel we were informed that the room would be in the annexe and that there would be some steps to negotiate to access the room. No mention that the annexe is located in what appeared to be a service yard and that the room is effectively below ground! Very shabby and grubby. Would definitely not go back there "
