We chose this spectacular lodge to serve as our primary base camp for exploring Yellowstone National Park, and it proved to be an absolute home run for both convenience and high-end comfort.Visiting the region in mid-September is a magical time to experience Yellowstone. The heavy summer crowds had thinned, the crisp autumn air was incredibly refreshing, and the wildlife was exceptionally active. After long days of tracking bison, viewing geysers, and hiking through the park, returning home to this quiet, private mountain oasis was the ultimate reward. The lodge itself is a masterpiece of alpine luxury. The grand living area, accented by soaring timber beams and massive floor-to-ceiling windows, perfectly framed the changing colors of the Montana hillside. The stone fireplace quickly became our favorite gathering spot to warm up and recount the day’s adventures over a glass of wine. Having six days to relax and settle in allowed us to fully enjoy the brilliant layout. The open-concept, gourmet chef’s kitchen was fully outfitted with premium appliances and high-end cookware, making it incredibly easy to prep early-morning park breakfasts and pack picnic lunches before heading out each day. Every inch of the home was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and supported by fast Wi-Fi to map out our routes for the next day. 1 Wildwood Way isn’t just a place to stay—it completely elevated our entire Yellowstone vacation. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
