"I really wanted to give this place high reviews, but unfortunately the great pluses this property has (amazing location right on the water and views) are negated by an overzelous and controling owner. Prepared to be scolded, warned and admonished for many things a paying costumer would not in other stablishments. I.e. do not take the kayak out in the beautiful bay because it could be damaged by the coral..are u serious? Why have a kayak on the property if it cant be used. Or, dont leave the AC...

Manava Beach Resort & Spa Moorea

"I have read many reviews on Manava and chose to come here for a holiday. It far exceeded my expectations. From a huge mess up on my part, booked 2027 instead of 2026, they went above and beyond to help me. Particularly the manager Maeva was exceptional in assisting me with all things (other mess ups like leaving stuff at previous hotel). I can’t say enough about the staff here including the front desk staff including Elsa and another manager (man) all were exceptional in customer service. The food was delicious and the staff was excellent as well. I went snorkelling early in the morning and saw two turtles, a shark and 2 rays. I used the paddle boards and infinity pool. I loved that this hotel was small. They really take care of you. Hope to be back. Thank you for helping me have a wonderful holiday in beautiful Moorea."

"This is a great property. You can’t beat the location and it’s really close to everything. The hosts are fabulous. If we ever had a question it was answered very quickly. We never needed them to come by. The fresh pineapples were a nice touch and we loved them. The house is well equipped. We cooked in most days and the kitchen had what we needed. The games made for some fun family tournaments. They have a smart TV and we logged in for a movie night. The AC was cold in every room and the showers were hot. There was plenty of snorkel equipment that we used while beach hopping. We didn’t need to bring any. My kids loved using the kayaks and the paddleboard each morning on cook bay. We saw rays including an eagle ray and black tip reef sharks. Breakfast out on the deck was fantastic. My wife loved the lounge chairs which had pads. The home had towels and first aid kits. There are multiple parking spots and multiple outdoor showers to rinse off. It’s close to some good restaurants. We loved the pizza spot, cooks grill and the smoothie and açaí bowls. One day we took the bikes to the grocery store and the kids loved that. The home had bags to carry groceries back. There’s also a nice family that cooks Tahitian donuts homemade just down the street and we stopped multiple times. The hosts were generous to get us some discounts on a car rental and also some tours. Felix set up anything we needed. They were incredibly helpful. We loved our stay there and were sad to leave! Thanks!!"

"La vue est très très belle. L'appartement bungalow est grand, suffisamment pour nous avec deux chambres séparées. La propriétaire sur place était très disponible. La climatisation était appréciées . Le bon conseil donné de faire le tour de l'île en bateau en snorkling nous aura permis le meilleur temps sur l'île. C'est certain qu'un peu de rénovation serait utile."

"Unbeatable views, conveniently close to Moorea Activities Center, grill available on deck to use for cooking. Shoutout to the adorable neighbor kitten Rama who kept us company under the stars. To note- the hill is very steep, took one or two trips to get used to driving up with manual car but not too bad by the end. Suggest stocking up on water and paper towels at grocery store, and using exterior blinds to block sun during afternoon since there’s no AC."

"This is for sure a five star island and location. Forget about staying at one of those bungalows. Here, you have friendly dogs, a private beach, access to private snorkeling, a good size kitchen, a grill, a hammock, a private concierge (Alix), and if you want: a boat and car. We highly recommend getting a boat and car. The water here is spectacular and it was cool to boat to the place where snorkeling trips go to see the sharks and rays. The road noise is certainly a thing…but it’s the trade you get when you live amongst the locals and not in a large resort. The outdoor shower (and indoor) were lovely, our weather was perfect, and the furniture for relaxing was amazing. In some ways this place was a bit more rustic than I was used expecting….but it made it feel like a much more authentic and wonderful experience. What a gorgeous country!"
