“Scout’s House” cabin on 2 acres Dog Friendly!

"We have been coming to Greer for close to 48 years…we love it here. Scout’s House is by far the favorite place we’ve stayed the house was perfect, well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, spices and a great coffee bar! It was clean and very well maintained. Shay was the perfect host, quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. We had 6 adults, 3 small kids and 1 dog, plenty of room for everyone and we appreciated the location and fencing so the kids and dog could roam freely. We will be back…thanks again Shay for sharing Scout’s House!"

"The cabin was clean. The host was excellent to work with. Even delivered a carbon monoxide detector to us as I was concerned about it not having one. Fireplace works with a flip of a switch. The views are great. Many beautiful hikes and water streams. You will hear Elk in the evenings. The kitchen needs some extra shelves for what the renter brings up ie boxes or cans of items. We were there 5 days and brought cereal and canned goods but had no space to put them. The upstairs is tricky. The rise on the steps is high so be aware it is not standard. I almost biffed it. The front sitting area is pleasant with the gas firepit. But you need to move the cushions in the evening under cover by the door to avoid condensation from dripping from the roof into them. Otherwise it was a wonderful place to stay."

"The cabin was clean and very quiet, tucked at the end of the road and bordering the national forest. Couches and beds were comfortable, but it could use a refresh on the pillows in some of the bedrooms. The cabin is located a couple miles up Northwoods Rd - this surprised me as the VRBO locater indicated that it was only "0.2 miles from Greer center." I was expecting to be able to walk into Greer for restaurants, etc. and didn't realize until check-in that you actually have to drive everywhere unless you want a 5-mile round trip walk to Molly Butlers. Not a huge deal, just a surprise. Overall, it was a very nice stay."

"Rustic property which was adequate for our purpose.The oven DOES NOT WORK. Had to light the burners by hand.Bed was comfortable, good linens and towels with a adequate supply in the closets.The cabin was clean but is showing its age."
