"We checked in at 0030 so reception was closed which was expected. The message from the hotel gave me a code to use to gain entry. At the hotel I was faced with a check in computer asking for my name and reservation number . After 20 minutes I could not find a reservation number it would accept We used the intercom to speak to someone and got the reservation number. Using this we ‘eventually ‘ got the door to open after about 5 attempts. The code sent by the hotel was infact the reservation number . A simple change in language could have assisted here . Without my message to the hotel prior to travelling this code would not have been sent or available - so despite not knowing this code was the reservation number - how are you supposed to find that out if you don’t know you need it till 0030 when you are tired and trying to check in. It was a poor check in process which even asked for around 2€ in payment and if we wanted breakfast etc . Can you imagine at 0030 if I want this - we just wanted to get to bed not be questioned A very poor system "

"What a fantastic place to stay. Clean and comfortable room, pillows like clouds and a good nights sleep. Towels a good size. Restaurant with comfortable seats. Great decor. We ate in the evening and the best steaks we had had in a long time! Our dog was given a bowl of water. The grounds are perfect for dog walking. Grass and shingle. (Beware of the rabbit/badger holes if going out at night) We didn’t eat breakfast as we’re in a hurry but it looked like a fab selection. A great location en-route through France from/to the Eurotunnel. "
