DESCRIPTION
Lovely stone millhouse over two levels with private plunge pool & use of lake for Fishing and swimming surrounded by 25 acres of privately owned woodlands and fields. Situated just outside the small village of Augignac, 11kms north of Nontron in the Perigord Vert this holiday cottage affords stunning views & secluded terraces both by the property & beyond the lake & is an excellent base for exploring the many chateaux & medieval sites throughout the Dordogne. The master bedroom leads directly out to a decked terrace looking over the gushing stream that once would have housed the original water wheel & is perfect for morning breakfast. Another secluded south facing terrace on the same level leads easily down to the parking area where the eyes follow the stream continuing through the woods. Large open plan living space on the first floor with log burner & exposed beams is accessible from either the interior spiral stairwell or exteriorly. Lake Saint Estephe is just a 5 minutes drive away ( swimming, boat hire, tree climbing ) perfect for all the family to enjoy. Nontron, 11kms, thriving pretty town, largely pedestrianised & famous for its cutlery production & weekly local markets, all amenities is definitely worth a visit. Brantome, 32kms the beautiful riverside town, nicknamed the venice of the Perigord is a short trip away and many good restaurants & gift shops. Not suitable for those with restricted accessibility as various levels & steps

What a great place.

Andrew was there to great us along with Mike, the mill was perfect so clean, it was wonderful. Location was very central to most of the things that we did. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would not hesitate to go back again. Thank you for a great experience.

Luxury in the Dordogne

Very very nice, alot bigger than we thought, feels homely and comfortable, has everything you need, kitchen well equipped, shower nice, lovely surroundings, would highly recommend staying there, hosts went above and beyond to welcome us and make our stay enjoyable, will definitely be going back.

Peace and quiet

Very comfortable house in a lovely spot (only slight difficulty is the spiral staircase - which could be tricky for some). Especially good if you like fishing with a beautiful lake right outside the front door. Surroundings are extremely quiet and peaceful with plenty of nice walks in the area. Host’s really nice and friendly and helpful. Would certainly go back.

Relax and unwind

What an amazing, peacefull, beautiful place to spend a summer holiday. You can really relax and unwind, if you like fishing this is a great spot. The kids had an amazing time on the sup board in the lake or went in for a cooling down in the swimming pool. The house is charming and still have authentic elements with a modern touch. There are three large bedrooms with more than enough space. The owners are very kind and helpfull, they have given us many usefull tips and information of places to visit, thank you so much. We had one of our best summer holidays.

Beautiful setting & Great Hosts

This is a really nice location for a family/friends stay in rural France. You can easily get to most of the local markets, attractions and towns. The house is really well appointed and has lots of character. If you like time by your own lake, fishing, and evenings sipping wine in a beautiful space then we'd highly recommend. The hosts Michael & Andrew are extremely welcoming and generous with there time and attention to make the stay as simple as possible for you. Recommended.

Vive les vacances à Augignac

Si vous aimez le calme et la nature, vous serez heureux de séjourner chez Mike et Andrew. L'accueil et la gentillesse de nos hôtes ont embelli notre séjour à Augignac. Excellent accueil de Mike et Andrew. Arrivés un peu tard le samedi soir, nous avons même eu droit à un excellent dîner préparé par Mike! Étang face à la maison (de l autre côté de la route), petite piscine hors sol, et énormément de charme en ces lieux. (Attention, escalier très etroit, raide et escarpé peu adapté aux tous petits)

Au calme et au frais dans un ancien moulin

Ancien moulin aménagé par les propriétaires, bordé par un ruisseau, un étang et une forêt qui ont apporté une fraîcheur très appréciée par ces temps de canicule. Vous pourrez peut être observer des chevreuils dans le jardin. Une petite piscine fera le bonheur des enfants et le bruit du ruisseau à proximité est très reposant. A distance raisonnable des commerces et de bcp de lieux à visiter. Bref nous avons passé une très bonne semaine, nous étions 6 adultes + 3 enfants en bas âge. Un grand merci à Mike et Andrew

Belle maison dans un endroit très isolé avec forêt et étang privé (usage privatif d'une barque !). Hôtes très agréable et disponible. E' revanche, la configuration de la maison n'était pas très pratique avec le salon à l'étage et la terrasse en contrebas, avec des escaliers très compliqués pour des enfants.

Un havre de paix dans la nature

Les propriétaires sont très disponibles en cas de besoin et tout le séjour à été accompagné de surprises et d’échanges entre nous La location est entre la forêt et l’étang avec ses plaisirs et sa tranquillité L’équipement est correcte et s’il y a un besoin les propriétaires y répondent toujours C’est donc une très bonne semaine que nous avons passé La situation géographique permet de faire de nombreuses activités dans un périmètre de 30 kms Du fait de la proximité immédiate de l’eau car il s’agit d’un ancien moulin ou des rochers apparaissent dans les murs cela occasionne de l’humidité dans les chambres mais là aussi les propriétaires mettent à disposition des sprays parfumés Le wifi fait le bonheur des enfants lorsqu’ils ne sont pas dans le bassin d’eau entretenu tous les jours Nous avons passé un très bon moment et nous gardons un souvenir positif de notre séjour Merci encore à Andrew et Mike

Un petit coin de paradis ds un écrin de verdure

Magnifique sejour dans un cadre superbe avec le charme de l ancien et le confort moderne ( cuisine bien équipée ..2 salles de bain . Le tout au calme .l etang nous offrant un bain de serenité ... s ajoute à cela l accueil chaleureux d Andrew et Mick . Qui ne savaient que faire pour nous faire plaisir .. des presents nous attendaient le premier soir avec un delicieux paté .du pain frais et 2 bonnes bouteilles de vin ... merci pour tout .. nous avons hate de revenir ...
