I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at the Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta. From the moment I checked in, the experience fell short of expectations. My room was not clean upon arrival, and housekeeping continued to be inconsistent throughout my stay — the bed was sloppily made each day, and only some towels were replaced.
The in-room coffee maker didn’t work, forcing me to wait in a 35-minute line at the lobby Starbucks just to get my morning started. While I understand the hotel was hosting a Wealth Weekend convention and likely under pressure, basic hospitality and attention to non-convention guests were clearly lacking.
Valet service was particularly frustrating. Despite calling 15–20 minutes in advance as instructed, I still waited an additional 10 minutes on-site every day for my car. At $60 per night, this level of service is simply unacceptable.
Overall, my experience at the Marriott Marquis was far below what I expect from the Marriott brand.
