The parking situation sucks a bit. But other than that cool hotel and very clean. Older, but worth the stay for the history. Be forewarned, make sure you get yourself a room with a bathroom. There are options for shared.
The staff was very friendly. Location was great. Room was exactly as described. I may have missed it, but the rooms don't have cold air conditioning. Has a radiator for heat, but it was an exceptionally hot summer day. Slept like a baby either way. Enjoyed my stay.
Parking can be a little tricky and the space is very small but clean! The rooms are not air conditioned but there is a ceiling fan and the window can open quite a bit “probably not super safe for kids” the share bathroom was clean and never ran into anyone else using them. Front desk was super friendly and very accommodating! For the price it’s a solid quick stay!
Front desk staff were awesome! Room and toilet facility were as described, but shared bathroom exceeded my expectations. On-site restaurant was excellent. Very nice stay.
I learned the hard way what "boutique" really means! While our accessible room was clean and spacious, the bathroom had zero shelf space for toiletries—just a standalone sink, despite plenty of room for an upgrade. Parking is a game of street-roulette, and our street-facing room was noisy enough that I had to use the provided earplugs on night two. That said, the staff was incredibly welcoming, the coffee was flowing in the lobby, and our room featured a highly important, fully functional antique pencil sharpener! If you need 21st-century comforts, this isn't the spot. If you want a clean, friendly 1930s time-capsule experience, book it!

We went for breakfast on the dock...cute little hole in the wall cafe best breakfast

This was one of the 2 most charming hotels we stayed in during our 5 day Oregon visit. It has that old but renovated feel, from the outward opening windows, radiators, and the front desk check in section. It was easy to check in with codes at the front door and your room. We booked this place last minute and got one of the rooms that share a restroom/shower. We got there after 9 and the shower had already been used but was very clean. The restroom and showers are in separate rooms next to each other. It was a very peaceful stay. The room itself had a fan that we used overnight. The window was left cracked open as it was a bit warm and there was some late night sound from people walking but the hotel provided ear plugs in case. We would highly recommend this place. In the morning we ate at the on site restaurant Stranded and although a bit pricey , the Swedish pancakes were so yummy! Along with a burrito made from potato flour.
The Commodore Hotel was a neat place to stay. The location is in the heart of downtown, so you have the ability to walk everywhere you need, without really any issues. The restaurant below (Broder Strand) had a great menu and coffee shop, and the place overall was friendly and welcoming. One of the best things is that it was dog-friendly, and most of Astoria is dog-friendly too, which made the experience even better.
This was such a lovely place to stay with character and comfort. We slept wonderfully, our bed was very comfortable-in fact so comfy my partner and I would like to know the retailer they use haha. We will be coming back no doubt. The staff were courteous and helpful. We stayed in the option of a private room and shared restroom and shower- as this was the only option for busy Memorial Day weekend. We wanted to stay here from the location and accommodations we researched. Pleasantly surprised by how well they kept things and the amenities provided to us. There is even an excellent breakfast option available next door called, “Stranded.” Parking was a little complicated for the busy weekend but, we managed and the town is quite walkable.
Location to everything was great. Cost was a good value. Beware of the noise though. They provided ear plugs on the night stand for good reason. Traffic sound all night long. Friendly staff.
Classy old dated hotel. Our room was lovely, bed was comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. We wanted to stay in one of Astoria's haunted hotels while staying out at the coast, and while we didn't get every spooky thing we hoped for, we did get a couple unexplained experiences. Would love to stay here again. Only complaint (minor) was that we did a lap around a couple blocks before finding out that it's street parking only for this hotel. Had no problem getting a good parking space once that was sorted however.
Great vintage hotel with cool art and vintages furnishings and little things lol je a pencil sharpener! We really enjoyed the room and the fascinating lobby. The restaurant in the building was yummy and satisfying for breakfast.
room was small, but clean and the bed was comfortable. tv is a hospital-style monitor, but has a dvd player built in and they have an assortment on a shelf in the lobby you can watch.
sound travels in this old building, so you’re able to hear neighbors above you and on your floor walking around and using the showers/bathroom. they do provide earplugs in the room, but if you’re sensitive to this, it may not be for you.
otherwise, the shared bathrooms/showers were clean and stocked. there was free coffee/tea 24/7 in the lobby, however we were unable to figure out where the morning coffee mentioned in the room notes was located (different than the lobby coffee).
parking was not an issue, even during the farmer’s market on sunday. the hotel is in walking distance of pretty much everything you could want to do!
