"I recently travelled to Wellington for two nights to attend WoW. The James Cook was very conveniently located for this event and was only a quick walk to the event venue. One of the lifts down to Lambton Quay was undergoing maintenance for the three days we were there and this did create some significant queues and wait times around busy periods. The room was a good size and generally clean, although a deep clean of the room is needed as there were definitely areas of the room that were noticeably neglected - especially under the bench in the bathroom and the corners of the rooms, under furniture etc. I was also disappointed that although this is a hotel, there was no mini-bar. There was a mini-fridge but it was empty and after a long day and a long flight, this would have been welcomed. The noise levels from other guests in the corridors was also very noticeable, so there are some noise-proofing improvements that could be made. Otherwise a generally pleasant stay."

"The staff were excellent- very helpful and efficient- absolutely first rate. The hotel is in a good location for shopping and WOW. The room amenities are good - very nice having a tumble drier (for the towels)! No view, but didn’t expect one. No bar or restaurant but don’t need one as so many great places to eat and drink nearby. A nice, functional hotel in a great location and wonderful staff."

"Clean but small twin bed room. Would have been much better with a coffee machine but loved the bathroom and lighting the room. Parking kind of painful but got the hang of it and was then ok. Nice vibe."

"Wellington Hunter Street Quest Hotel receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, our room was very clean and comfortable and the location in Wgtn CBD is perfect for a weekend in Wellington with shops, cafes, restaurants etc in very close proximity and buses to and from airport within minutes walk round the corner on Lambton Quay. The Art Deco vibe is great and their lift is amazing. Will definitely book them again for a weekend in Wgtn."
