Please be warned before booking that Pegasos Royal is absolutely NOT a 5 star property.
The hotel is old and is really showing its age, the reception and lounge area is dark and uninviting.
The cons:
We paid EUR5,000 for a 2 weeks stay, which is excessive for the standard of this hotel.
The food is very basic, repeated almost every day.
The room is old and the cleaning is not up to the standard of a 5 star property. Everything needs to be updated in order for their rating to actually be 5 stars.
We had to switch rooms on the first night as the paint smell coming from the closet was so intense, you couldn't stay in the room, let alone put your clothes there.
The rooms are damp, meaning that the clothes you hang up in the closets - will be damp also.
There are constantly works going around the hotel - painting after guests move out - tells you everything you need to know; the smell lingers in the hall and you can't stay in your room.
Gardeners use open saws to cut hedges and grass as the kids are playing near the pools during peak hours - incredibly unsafe, nevermind the noise.
Cleaners clean the gym as it opens, so if you're there, someone with particularly unpleasant chemicals will clean right in front of you. The gym equipment, btw, is over 20 years old.
Pros:
The surrounding areas - pools and beach are nice, but it should be a nice benefit, not the highlight.
Entertainment team are great.
