The Cavern, Luxury Cave Stay in Hill Country Sri Lanka

The Cavern is a unique property built into a Cave set in the lush forest of Totum Estate. The three-bedroom property is surrounded by tea estates on the hills of Agrapathana. The three bedrooms and bathrooms are built into the cave and each has a balcony. Amenities
include a naturally heated spa pool, multiple dining areas with a view out to the hills, and one with a stone pizza oven. A spa is also available by prior appointment.

Inside the cozy property, you will find a modern fireplace, television, sound system, grand piano, gorgeousfloor-to-ceiling windows looking out from the cave to the forest, and stunning interiors throughout.
Shared spaces include an upper living room with a grand piano and lower dining area and a mezzanine dining room as well as numerous outdoor dining spaces.
Beyond the immediate property but within walking distance, guests can access our organic farm that provides much of the produce featured in meals, a unique dining experience at the Bamboo Kitchen accessed by bridge in the middle of a man-made lake, multiple picnic
areas, a basketball court and plenty of hiking trails up and around the 50-acre grounds. A favourite viewpoint is Samuel’s Seat looking toward the Agrapathana mountains.
To help navigate the hill-country roads we offer guest collection and drop-off from Hatton in our comfortable Landcruiser vehicle.
The property must be rented as a whole and has a two-night minimum stay.

The cave features 3 rooms, all uniquely built into the Cave and with floor-to-ceiling glass balcony sliding doors.

There is a maximum occupancy of 7 pax.

Enjoy meals on a full board basis.

Our chef uses mainly fresh vegetables, eggs and meat from our estate farm, all produced using sustainable methods and carefully prepped by our talented kitchen team.
Meals are requested to be ordered a day prior to ensure all ingredients are available at on site.

Guests can enjoy their own alcohol at the property.
