I recommend Alpine Motel as a comfortable motel at a good price. Although this motel is rather old, it is well kept, and I found it a bargain for a weary traveler.
I stopped in this motel for a night's stay on my trip to Norfolk, Virginia for a Carnival cruise. I was so pleased with my night's stay on August 23 that I booked this motel on my trip home August 30.
Very clean and so peaceful. The owner takes pride in the property. It’s very well maintained and the rooms are very modern. While I was here, there was a storm and we lost power. The owner was on top of everything, making sure his guests were well informed about when the power would be restored. You can’t beat the views. It’s surrounded by pastures but is close to shopping and of course the Virginia Creeper Trail head in Abingdon. I will definitely stay here again!
Room was super clean. You can tell they take pride in maintaining the hole property. It's a very safe, quiet area. Beautiful view of a pasture and if your lucky you'll see the cows. Also a beautiful view of the moutains. Check in/out is quick & easy. I've stayed here multiple times and highly recommend you do also if your in the area. I have nothing but good things to say about the Alpine. It isn't a fancy high class place, it is a simple, get away from it all kinda place which I prefer over high class, overpriced, fancy places. Down to earth & peaceful. What more do you need?
Super cute roadside motel. No frills. Staff was very helpful & friendly. The rooms could use some work, but they served their purpose. We stayed 1 night during a 4 day motorcycle trip in and around the area. Showers had mildew on the ceiling but the tubs were clean. Floors were clean & linen was all clean. For the price it was a great 1 night stay!
Parking was just outside door, rooms very spacious and quiet, temp in room good once we understood how to operate. Love the location and views. Beautiful sunrise over distant mountains.
Solo traveler spending one night. It served its purpose.
It's a lower cost option and was fine for that. Other motels in the area were more expensive.
I would stay again.
Good:
Generally clean. Shower was clean.
Felt very safe.
Fridge, Microwave. TV.
Floors are new. Decent newer furniture.
Beds ok
Parking - you park right outside your room.
Room was pretty spacious.
Staff was very friendly.
Bad: some things a little outdated. Electric outlets.
Covering for access to the shower plumbing was off and just laying on floor.
AC unit was old, but worked well
Towels a little bit worn, but still usable.
Not really walkable. But quick easy drive to town.
