View NW from the A463 road up the Ebbw Valley, towards Ebbw Vale (to the left, Ebbw Fawr), with the railway still open - just about) and to the right up the Ebbw Fach valley to Abertillery, Nantyglo and Brynmawr. In this 1990 view it appears that there are still station platforms for both routes, but the station had been closed for passengers on 30/4/62 and for goods from 28/11/66. The line up the Ebbw Fawr remained open to serve Ebbw Vale Steelworks and a passenger service to Ebbw Vale - but not stopping here - was restored on 6/2/08. The line to the right to Nantyglo and Brynmawr was closed from 30/4/62, although goods to Abertillery continued until 7/4/69, but it still seems to exist here in 1990.

Noisy room next to cleaning cupboard where was woken each morning at 5-6am. Room lost all power during the stay for a period resulting in having to sit in lobby to wait for power to be restored.
