Nails sticking out, cracked and rotten boards. You felt like you were going to fall through. "The hotel is beautiful and in a great location but has some odd issues that make me think the management is skimping on maintenance.
We noticed that the phone was not connected. When we brought it up to the front desk we were told that they were aware of the problem and they gave us the external number to the hotel so that we could call on our cell. No attempt was made to fix the phone.

"The palazzo is a lovely old house in the center of town right off the main square. The secret sauce here is the large, beautiful garden in back and the extremely personalized service. The staff makes every effort to please and assist. The general approach is thoughtful and old school in a nice way.
