"Das Hotel Leopold muss man bereit sein zu verstehen. Das Haus erklärt sein Selbstverständnis auf einer Tafel im hinteren Foyer als eine Unterkunft für „Bon Vivants“.
Bonvivant (von französisch bon vivant = „gut lebend“) ist ein Genussmensch oder Lebemann. Damit ist eine Person gemeint, die das Leben genießt und sich besonders den angenehmen Dingen wie gutem Essen, feinen Getränken und schönen Erlebnissen widmet.
Und das stimmt. Wir haben die Zeit hier echt genießen können.

"We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Normandy. Beautiful hotel, attentive staff, delicious and lovely breakfast. Safe location, large bathroom and basic room was a great size. The pool was warm and huge! We loved it!!! We were warmly welcomed and made to feel pampered."
"Der Blick vom Zimmer auf die Nordsee war wunderschön aber das Hotel ist wirklich sehr in die Jahre gekommen und benötigt dringend eine Restauration. Das Frühstück ist okay allerdings auch nicht hervorragend.
Das Reinigungspersonal, das für unser Zimmer zuständig war, war „grottenschlecht“.
Es hat in den 4 Tagen, in denen wir hier waren, nicht einmal den Staubsauger benutzt, nicht einmal den Tisch abgewischt und Kronkorken von geöffneten Flaschen weggeräumt.
