"Hotel Grimsborgir is located near the kerid crater. It was my intention to visit the crater as soon as it opened in the morning, but I got a little impatient and couldn’t wait (it didn’t open until 10 am). "Very modern and nice little house in the middle of nowhere. We were very lucky with the northern lights. The windows in the roof are cool and something unique. Please note that the key box was frozen (end of October) and therefore we had problems to open it. A few more hooks in the bathroom would be a nice addition. All in all we had a very nice and unique stay. "

"Photos can not capture the beautiful scenery at the villa. You are surrounded by nature and the view of the Northern Lights surrounds the area when they are dancing. Our teens, young adults, middle-aged, and senior family members were all able to enjoy the spacious layout. Travel to local sights is easy and worth it in order to be in the tranquil quiet by the lake. I highly recommend staying here. The owners are wonderful hosts."
