"Room had stains on the wall. Overall hotel need’s updating.
Staff friendly but chef stressed as no one was checking on breakfast items that kept running out!
Dinner was lovely though…. Sticky toffee pudding to die for.
Stay was ok for the price and it was the second time we have stayed. So obviously not too bad."
"Plenty of parking. Large comfortable room. Lovely welcome from the staff.
Extractor fan in bathroom really loud and plug hole definitely needed some drain unblocker as was standing in water when I had a shower. However the staff were very receptive when I informed them and said that they would notify housekeeping.

"Travelled from Spain to attend a wedding Stated 2 nights. Receptionist was very polite and friendly Can’t comment on facilities as we didn’t use them or the restaurant The outside areas are well maintained. On the whole, we had a very enjoyable stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel"
"Good convenient hotel for seeing family nearby. Bar/restaurant fine, room good size but like everywhere little mark ups add to the overall cost such as parking up from 10 to 15 pounds."
"Nice hotel rooms are a bit small and dark. Breakfast fairly good. You have to pay to use their car park £15.30 a night. They won’t let you check in early so arrive at 2.45 or later."
"This is a historic inn on a pilgrim’s route. It is not a modern, high rise hotel. Don’t let those expectations diminish your experience here. The rooms are quite large and very clean. The beds are comfortable. There are not a lot of frills and extras here yet that is not what this inn is about.
Be aware that the inn is not in town. There is a rather narrow road going to the inn. Good, free parking. The breakfast is basic.
The pub area is super cool and historic - not sure how good the food is -...
"The property is outstanding. Absolutely outstanding. This has got to be one of my all time fav hotels. And the spa was the cherry on top. I stayed in a manor luxe room - beautiful! The staff are busy, so don’t expect anything quick. Shambolic is a good way to explain the staffing! The lady behind the bar needs customer service training. Her huffing and puffing was not appreciated when ordering drinks. Above all, even with the shambolic faulty tower style staff I loved my stay!"
