"The Grange on Calgan Farm is placed on beautiful grounds with views over the Kalgan River. It is very quiet and relaxing, however, even though it is advertised as pet and child friendly the host is not particularly friendly towards dogs and children. We had a lovely time in Albany, and spent hardly any time at the Grange, with two adults, two teenage children and a labrador, expecting a dog friendly place, as it was advertised, but did not feel welcome with our dog. "I have been to many beautiful towns in Qld, NSW, Vic, SA and currently on the road trip in WA. Middleton beach was supposed to be a transition stop only, but it became best part of the WA trip so far. It's so calm, peaceful and first time made me feel like I want to live in regional area permanently. I am sure this property contributes 80% of this wonderful experiences. "The apartment is modern, fresh and clean in a great location near the beach and town. An unexpected bonus provided by the hosts was breakfast cereals, milk, juice etc. and a lovely cheese platter I didn't mind the closeness to the railway tracks (and the occasional passing train) - my husband, however, was not happy about the disturbance to his sleep."
