"We travel with our registered service dog in training, and as soon as we disclosed that we had a dog, we were assigned a first-floor room in the back of the hotel. This area was apparently designated for guests with pets. The room faced a parking lot with no grass or convenient outdoor area for our dog. We ended up using the grassy area near the Tesla chargers, which worked for the dog, but I DID NOT FEEL SAFE there given the questionable activity around the nearby gas station and...
"The Hood River Hotel had some good aspects and some not so good aspects. The staff was super nice and helpful, 5 stars! The location is also very good, right downtown near shops and restaurants. The building is old and historic so it has charm but its not comfortable to stay in. The rooms don't have climate control and rely on space heaters and window AC units. The beds could use some new mattresses. The overall furnishings of the hotel, is sort of shabby chic which looks good but isn't...
"The best part of this hotel was definitely the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We loved hearing the spooky ghost stories and lore!
That said, we felt the property itself could really use some TLC. The first room we were given was definitely not up to the standard we would expect for the price. It was tiny, cramped, and had no furniture for storage of our belongings. There was a desk and one large chair, which we ended up using just to hold our things....
"Located in a scenic location overlooking the Columbia River (can't see River from most rooms), but beautiful walks. Next to Columbia Gorge Hotel where you can walk to and have a delicious dinner. Property is well maintained and nicer and a better value than chain hotels in the areas."
"Oh my goodness this property is absolutely gorgeous!!! There's nothing bad I can say about this place! The tent was warm because of the gas stove, they give you these cute lanterns for light and charger batteries for electrics. I thought we'd be off grid but we had cell service the whole time. The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced for what you got (and I am very picky). We were there when it was cool out so I don't know if my opinion would be different it it were summer though...

Buy the breakfast - and yes get it delivered to your cabin. It’s 1000% worth it. Daniel is an AMAZING chef. Be sure to stop in to the office for homemade treats each day. Dora is so welcoming and kind. We couldn’t have asked for a better couple’s retreat. We’re excited to come back someday!!"
