I was a little hesitant about paying the deposit thru link after learning that many scammers work that way, but it was the only way since it is a self check in. They do send instructions of everything with steps to enter the room. The key to the room is modern, thankfully my 19 year old got us in quite fast. "We loved our stay at Hotel Muralto and highly recommend it. The property is conveniently located near public transportation (a bus stop right out the door and train station a 5 minute walk). It's a 10 minute walk to old town Locarno, shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is well maintained, the room was spotless and all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was fresh and delicious, the air conditioning was welcome and refreshing (we were in Switzerland...
"The staff was stellar, incredibly accommodating even when we were the only guests left in the hotel. They were super kind and friendly even with a language barrier. The property itself is slightly outdated and the room was cramped for thee but overall it has its own charm. The location is beautiful and convenient. Recommend packing luggage you can carry up stairs. Really cozy and good place."
"Wir waren von der Unterkunft wirklich begeistert. Alles war sehr sauber, modern eingerichtet und gepflegt. Die Gastgeber waren freundlich und bei Fragen jederzeit gut erreichbar.
Der einzige kleine Nachteil ist die Parksituation: Für die gesamte Unterkunft gibt es nur zwei reservierte Parkplätze. Wir hatten Glück, dass beide frei waren. In der Hochsaison kann ich mir jedoch vorstellen, dass die Parkplatzsuche etwas schwierig werden könnte.
Abgesehen davon können wir die Unterkunft...
"We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and the view from the window was absolutely amazing — overlooking the lake. Waking up to such a beautiful view was a wonderful experience.
The only downside was that the hotel does not have an elevator. We were given a room on the top floor, and carrying our suitcases up the stairs was quite difficult.
Apart from that, everything was wonderful, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend this...
"What a gem of a place! It's run by two folks who clearly put a lot of care, attention, and hospitality knowledge into the experience. I loved the location which was across from a bus stop that runs right into town, next to a grocery store, and within short walking distance of the lovely Ascona waterfront. It was also a good location for morning runs. The breakfast was good and while I didn't try the restaurant, it had lively crowds and the food looked delicious. Highly recommend!"

Convenient parking just next to the station.
