"We got to stay here for the night of news years eve and enjoyed a vegetarian dinner. My husband cannot eat any wheat or gluten so the monks made sure he had a special vegetable dish with no soy sauce. The rooms were at first cold but with the heaters warmed up nicely. The hot baths were nice. We enjoyed walking the town and seeing the various shrines and temples and large cemetery too. The huge cypress trees were amazing. And the cemetery was lit at night too. "This will have to be my most favorite part of my trip to Japan. You will have to intentionally come here for the temple stay. First and foremost, the facility will ONLY ACCEPT CASH payment for the stay. Though my wife and I were not too fond of the shared wash rooms to wash up. I don’t believe the facility has rooms with private wash rooms. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. They offer traditional breakfast and dinner(vegan friendly, though I am not, very delicious!). Wake up...

"Very close to the train station. And the department stores and restaurants just above the station. My room has an private washrooms, but no fridge. It's a typical old style Japanese businessman hotel where most rooms has no private lavatory and fridge. And one needs to use the shared one on the hallway. And there's a public bath."

"Die Tempelgebäude sind als Weltkulturerbe einzigartig und die Zeremonie am Morgen war sehr beeindruckend. Die Gästezimmer sind in einem Nebengebäude außerhalb untergebracht, das weniger Charme hat. Die Zimmer sind sehr einfach, ohne Schlüssel, und in unserem Zimmer roch es etwas muffig. Der Onsen ist nett, aber relativ klein. Das typisch japanische Essen war reichlich. Es gab außerdem Getränkeautomaten im Haus. "

"I would not recommend this place, since there is no personnel at the hotel to manage the guests. We were there for one night and we got woke up a few times buy people yelling in the accomodation We were in room 101 which is next to the living room/kitchen and the entry, probably the worst room. I had to get up and tell some guest to stop yelling at each other. We were woken up by people at midnight, 2am , 4 am and 7am. People were rude and were not respecting any rules from the managers.... "
