"A bit old and dingy and cramped, but clean. There was no info sheet in the room so difficult to find the WiFi password. Not very private and quiet as it was more like an Inn with a number of other guests in adjacent rooms that one could hear.
The owner met me at the door which was a nice touch. Parking was great. Price for a quick one night stop and early morning start was about right."
"I had a bit of a time getting in. Whatever was supposed to load on my phone would not, so I had to call the number outside (there’s no one on-site) and they were able to help me get in. It was a bit weird sleeping in bunk beds in my 50s, but the mattress was good, and the room temperature was controllable, which I much appreciated (I like a cool room), and the bathroom was nice. The TV remote batteries had died, so I emailed the hotel, and someone immediately brought new ones over, The staff...
"Delux room with Loch views was amazing. Comfortable bed and linens. Well kept furnishings. Enjoyed the window facing chairs for hours of counting waves. Very walkable to town. I was without a car. Flat walk to shops and restaurants."
"The room was close to everything we needed, including the ferry terminal for the trip to Iona. Oban is a great place to visit and our room at Raniven was a gem. Off street parking so close to the harbour is permitted and we had that.
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable."
"Room was very clean and spacious
Bed and pillows were very comfortable
Settee also in room so could sit comfortably
Plenty of hot drink sachets
Breakfast was unavailable during our stay so unable to comment- we were informed though
Toilet cistern was slow fill and quite noisy
Would stay again"
"Newly renovated and spacious, however this apartment fell far short of its advertised 'luxury'. The unit sits directly beside the noisy A85 trunk road road, there is double glazing but soundproofing is still very poor, as there is constant traffic noise and you can quite clearly hear outside conversations with all windows firmly shut. This means windows can’t really be opened for very long and temperate more difficult to control. The Expedia listing promised an on-site EV charger, which was...
"The Wee Bank House is perfect in every way. So much attention to detail with everything we needed for our short stay in Oban. Lots of extra little touches including a wee dram on arrival, coffee pods and lovely local toiletries. Exceptionally clean and a friendly host. Highly recommend.

"Such a unique place to stay, and exactly what I wanted. It’s built on stilts into the side of a hill, just above a fabulous Inn. Walking distance (400m ish) from Lochawe train station. It’s not a hotel, so for the nightly cost if you want a hotel this isn’t it. But the view and location if you want to be at peace, in nature with the most incredible views and backdrop, this is it.
Very comfortable beds, quiet, fantastic warm shower. Everything we needed (and I’d packed things expecting it to be...
"Very quiet which was exactly what we needed
Close to the town centre , which meant i could enjoy a drink which is very rare for me .
My partner complained the bed was too hard , i found it to be fine ( she just likes to complain )
Plenty parking round the back .
Would definately return "
