"Charming hotel with decor that evokes a traditional China of the 1920’s, but with thoroughly updated facilities and amenities. The bathroom was very elegant and included a Western-style toilet with heated seats. The bed was very comfortable, and there was a lovely view of the river from the balcony. The hotel is just a short walk to the east gate of Zhanjiajie National Park, itis nicely situated in Wulingyuan with great restaurants and small shops nearby. However, the best part of this hotel was the amazing staff who did everything to make me feel welcome and comfortable, including helping me plan my solo excursions into the park each day. If I ever visit Zhanjiajie again, this is the place that I’d stay. You should too."

"We had a wonderful stay at No. 5 Valley Lodge. The staffs were so helpful and friendly. Frankie was the best. He arranged everything for us from national park tickets, meals, transportation. Anything we ever needed. They were also available through wechat at all times if we had any questions. The hotel is far from downtown (if you want to go to other destinations) but very close to Zhangjiajie NP. Highly recommend this place and we would absolutely book again if we come back. "

"The one English-speaking reception staffer was very helpful and efficient. Good breakfast and aircon. Amazing robotic toilet seat/ auto flushing etc Nice shower. What I suggest is somewhere to hang our towels if we don’t need them washed every day. It’s a new hotel so we understand the new lifts are under construction. The 2 lifts make long waits for a high rise hotel. The TV turning on every time we enter the room is annoying. "

"This is more of a boutique and is nestled in a nice neighborhood. It is clean and a fun place, but not a hotel as such. The best part is the closeness with the owner and his family. They work had to see that you have a nice stay and they are very helpful. The food is so so and the dining area is small but they will try to help as much a possible."

"Shower drain was a little slow. Room was overall clean and well maintained. Room key lock mechanism failed on 2nd day of 3 night stay. But the problem was fixed fairly quickly. The location was good. We were pleased overall. "

"We had a great stay at their hotel. Both owners were very sweet and hospitable. Started from the wife picking us up at the airport. (Sorry I forgot her name)When we got to the hotel she immediately added us to her WeChat so we could communicate with her easily. She was very sweet the first day she noticed we were under the weather so when we got to back to the hotel in the evening she brought us some plum tea which was very good. Almost everyday we were there she has brought us either sweets/ tea or fruits. She was also very helpful and recommended more things for us to do and see. So if you’re ever in Zhangjiajie consider staying with them they are amazing! "
