This was our first stay in a traditional Japanese ryoken and we had a great stay. The welcome was fantastic with a tour round the hotel and tea served in our room. We also enjoyed the spa and the Japanese breakfast.

The Dormy Inn in Nagano was an excellent value! The location is first rate - less than 10 minutes walking from Nagano Station. The Inn has wonderful amenities - an indoor/outdoor onsen. After onsen free ice cream snacks. A very tasty breakfast including Japanese and western cuisine - the quality and variety was great and the price was reasonable. They also have chilled apple juice during the day and made to order ramen in the evening. If you miss the ramen, they will give you a...

Really nice facility. Staff very helpful. Good breakfast.
Sirens woke me up a few times during the night. Must be near an emergency services station. If you're a light sleeper you may want to bring some earplugs.

The hotel is clean and staff were polite with us. They kept our luggage after we did check out and there was room cleaning every day. A good perk is the free coffee from a machine in the lobby during the morning. The location is great, very close to the train station and multiple restaurants. The hotel has an old look though and thereās just one elevator for all the floors making it busy during check-out hours. The internet sometimes failed us and there were no free tv channels.

Great location, just a short walk from Nagano Station and easy to find. It's on the same road that leads to Zenkoji Temple. For a two-night stay this met my expectations. Facilities were clean and tidy. I also had the chance to dine in at their Mash Cafe - it was a nice, cozy ambiance and the food and drinks were delicious. Staff both at check-in counter and cafe were very friendly.

Clean, comfortable hotel with a very friendly staff! Pajamas in each room which were comfortable, too! Some elements of the hotel room were a bit older but everything worked and the temperature was perfect. Breakfast is offered but I did not partake. I would certainly stay here again.

As you walk up, how small the building is stands out, as is how the beat up the exterior looke, but once you walk into the lobby, you realize everything is going to be okay.
Not only does everything look nice and clean, but even the smell is great. Staff makes check in great, and then when you get to the room, you once again are greated by a clean smell, something close to baby powder.
The room is decent sized for the price, largely because the entrance has both a clothing cabinet and a table,...
