We left Akakia Panoramic Villa only a few hours after arrival because we simply could not stay there.
The villa had a very strong smell of dampness and mould throughout the house. I have a medically documented mould allergy and have previously been hospitalized due to mould exposure, so remaining in the property was not safe for me.
We also found visible signs of moisture damage in several areas, including peeling paint, cracked plaster and walls that appeared to have been painted over following previous water damage. The condition of the villa matched the strong damp smell we experienced.
The cleanliness was also disappointing.
We found food remnants in the sandwich toaster, limescale on the kitchen tap, dirty cutlery stored on a dirty cloth under the sink, damaged curtains and a generally poor standard of maintenance.
We documented everything with photographs and shared them with Hotels.com.
The location and the view are beautiful, but unfortunately the condition of the villa did not match the listing or our expectations.
We sincerely hope the owner addresses these issues, as the property has great potential.
Until then, we cannot recommend staying here, especially for guests with allergies or sensitivity to damp and mould.
