this place is too far from Zadar 5-6 km! They said that they offer free transfer from to the airport This is lie. Bed is not comfortable and there is no Internet.

I thought villa sonja was extremely clean and tidy. The owners were really nice and also the rooms had a small kitchen so you can cook.

Very pleasant stay at Villa Sonja
We stayed at Villa Sonja one night after our late night plane arrival. The owner was very helpful and our family room was very spacious - our room included a small kitchen area and a terrace with table and 4 chairs. There is a pizzeria next door to the Villa and a couple of cafe/bars around the corner.

Decent hotel
Villa Sonja is a good value hotel in Zadar. Great wifi. The staff don't speak much English, and there is not really a reception, but the room was fairly clean and modern. We had a 3-bed room, and my main complaint is that the beds were rather noisy.

Nice room but noisy overall.
The hotel was noisy. We could here our neighbors next door in their room as they walked around, opening and shutting their bed and bathroom doors, people as they walked up and down the stairs, and even people talking as they gathered downstairs at the entrance way.

Cash only policy needs to be clearly highlighted
The room at Villa Sonja was perfectly acceptable and served its purpose as low cost accomodations for a short business trip. However, it was supprising and not clearly indicated at the time of booking that the owners do not accept credit cards. I was very lucky to have sufficent cash on had to pay the bill up front the day of arrival. As it was the owner's request wiped out my cash supply for the trip. I would recommend that the cash only policy be made clear at the time of booking.

Nice hotel a short walk to the beach.
A modern, clean apartment with small cooking facilities. Great if you have been to the old city and you want to chill at a beach. We didn't try the bus system but taxi fares were fairly reasonable.

Beautiful apartment in lovely area
This apartment took us by surprise, really spacious & very decent price. Owner picked us up from the airport & was very friendly & helpful. 2min walk from bus stop to main part of town, & also very close to beaches, restaurants and bars. Stayed 2 days, wish we stayed a bit longer. Perfect for a young couple

Zadar Marina Accomodation
Property is in a quiet residential neighborhood, very close to the Zadar Marina and about a half-hour walk to the old town. There are restaurants and grocery stores conveniently located nearby. Amenities at the apartment are minimal, and the accommodation is somewhat spartan (no shampoo, no hair dryer, small flimsy bath towels, etc.). The kitchenette could be handy for someone planning a long stay in Zadar.

Location, value and free bicycles!
Villa Sonja is located in a quiet part of the city very close to several beaches. Also close to the apartment are a "caffe bar" and a small bakery. There is a pizza restaurant right next door and other restaurants within a short distance. The owner provides bicycles to guests, and we used them every day to cycle into the old town and to various beaches, restaurants, etc. We really appreciated that. We needed and were happily given extra towels and bedding. Be prepared to pay cash (kunas or euros), as none of these types of accommodation in Croatia (apartments rather than hotels) accept credit cards.

Great inexpensive stay
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Sonja. It was very reasonably priced for a clean room that had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the free airport transportation. We also appreciated that when we checked-in we were given a map of the area and told about things in the local area and how to get around. We stayed in the studio for 2 people. We had a kitchenette (fridge, 2 hobs, microwave, sink, coffee machine), table and chairs, TV, wardrobe, bedside cabinets, bed and bathroom. We found the bed a little uncomfortable, but this was not a major problem. We were surprised there was no blanket on the bed (just sheets and a slightly padded cover), however we didn't need one, although one night we were slightly chilly. Had we really needed it, I am confident that we could have asked the management, who seemed friendly and helpful. Villa Sonja may not be in the centre of Zadar, but you can get there either by bus or by a 35 to 40 minute walk, or 50 minutes if you take the route along the coast (walking about 3mph). With the coast and beach nearby, we found it well placed to investigate the area. There was a nearby supermarket and bank. Our stay was very positive, and the negative things I've mentioned were only minor, especially given price. The only other thing was that we could only pay by cash (which retrospectively isn't surprising considered it is a small place), but having booked through Expedia with a credit card, it took us by surprise on the last day.

Ideal Location for Seeing Zadar & Surrounding Area
We had a lovely spacious apartment that was well presented, very clean and well equipped. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was located close to the Borik marina and beaches - handy for walking along the seaside or swimming. There are lovely restaurants locally if you don't want to head into Zadar town centre, and there are plenty of local shops too. We used Zadar as a base for day trips elsewhere in Dalmatia, and it was easy to get from the apartment to the main roads for heading North, East or West.

Villa Sonja was ideal for our needs. There is a good restaurant next door and a supermarket about 200m. along the road. It could be a bit difficult to find but the owner met us at the airport and when our car was not delivered to the hotel as arranged, he rang the rental office and gave us a lift into town to pick it up. All at no cost. The pick up at the airport would also have been free if we had requested it earlier. We will book there again.

Looks like a lot of tick boxes have been lazily selected. All rooms do not have a sofa bed. The studio room does not have a separate dining area. There is no A/C in communal areas (it would be entirely unnecessary if there was). Dishware was limited at best. Satellite TV is 99% in German. Service was minimal. Location is good for beaches (not brilliant beaches mind) and 25 mins into Zadar on the bus.

Great accommodtion for summer vacations/festivals
Great apartment in a quiet location withing walking distance from the beach and the city center. There is a good restaurant just next door and other facilities in close proximity (ATM, stores bars etc)... I will definitely stay there next time when visiting Zadar.

Great Apartments to explore Zadar & surrounds
We stayed here twice; one night when we flew into Zadar, then 4 more before we left a week later. Both rooms we stayed in were clean, comfortable and had basic cooking facilities, useful when you've had too much of Croatia's slightly limited range of Meat/Fish/Grill/Pizza restaurants... (Though the place next door does excellent pizza and salads). There's a small supermarket 3 minutes' walk down the road, a larger one 3 minutes drive the other way. There's also a few restaurants and bars strewn along the one-way road just up the hill a bit (including a Thai place). The apartments themselves are pretty spacious; bedroom, lounge area (with sofa-bed), small kitchen area and balcony. It's about a 10-15 minute bus-rise into Zadar town and 30/45-minute drive to Paklenica N.P. or Pag island. Sonja is very helpful, and if you stay for 3+ nights they offer airport pickup/drop off. Negatives? Not many... Hot water seemed a little scarce at times (mostly evenings) and one night a local bar was pumping out some tunes, but not to an extent it kept us awake. We're planning on heading back there for some more climbing at Paklenica (we got rained off this time) and would definitely stay here again.

Appartamento molto carino in un bel contesto. Grazioso balconcino e casa pulita. Unica nota:bagno troppo piccolo e presenza di pochi utensili da cucina. Per il resto tutto ottimo incluso la disponibilità dell'host che ci ha tenuto la casa fino alla sera e accompagnato all'aeroporto
