Yufuin offers a relaxing onsen experience with beautiful views, lovely grounds, and amazing meals made with local specialties. Great place to visit with family and friends.
A very large well kept mid aged Ryokan, one of the most prestigious hotel 49 years ago, the room is so big, the one I stayed including a Seating Patio, Living, Bedroom, and a tea room of ancient charcoal furnace with a kittle hand from the ceiling, own Onsen bathroom too.
I would like to start with the beautiful, open air onsen. I can spend most of the day in there. Mountain view and nicely designed pool. Breakfast and dinner was a perfect Japanese food experience. I’m vegetarian and informed the accommodation by an email a week before arrival. They have changed the menu for me carefully. Usually it’s difficult to find vegetarian friendly restaurant in Japan so I’m glad. Room size was just right. There is a staff member for each room who takes you to the room, gives information about the hotel and serves dinner and breakfast. Hotel is combination of couple of buildings, settled nicely in the nature and feels like a small peaceful village. I’m looking forward to go there again.
Excellent stay, very relaxing. The outdoor onsen, both the gender specific and family baths are the stars of the property. Service is top notch, I was pampered the moment I stepped foot on the property. I had Kaiseki dinner and breakfast as part of my room package and both were excellent. Japanese style room was spacious for 2, and the in-room mountain view seating area was great. Room has in-room toilet and sink. Staff speaks good English. Cab ride from Yufuin station is inexpensive and necessary since the property is uphill, also far enough away from Yufuin that once on property, you will likely stay there since the surrounding area is residential and other onsen. I only wish I could have stayed longer, hope to return soon.
