The hotel has an amazing breakfast and couples can use the onsen on the roof for a price. The monkey bus leaves daily for exploration of the local hills. Great price and quiet. "We stayed here for one night and it was such a treat. At first we were unsure about the travel because we started in Tokyo and then we were headed to Kyoto and this added another 8 hours or so of train travel (over two days). That said, we were determined to see the snow monkeys and to stay in an authentic ryokan, so we did it and I am so glad we did!! The travel turned out to be relaxing and part of the adventure. The snow monkeys were awe inspiring and the ryokan was a beautiful experience. The food was delicious and the service even better. My teenage girls loved the uniqueness of it and my husband and I felt very relaxed and taken care of. I highly recommend this hotel!"

The public and private onsens were really nice, and not crowded at all possibly because we visited during the summer. Great location to visit the snow monkey park! "
