Glan yr Afon, Ystalyfera Looking along the road to Mynydd Allt-y-grug (338m), which overlooks the Swansea Valley.
Houses on the switchback Graig Road, left, goes uphill to Ystalyfera, Church Road, right, comes up from the main road which follows the Tawe valley floor.
On Swansea Canal aqueduct over the Twrch at Gurnos This portion of the disused canal is now dry but the south side towpath is a public footpath and may even be part of the mercurial cycle route 43.
Raised field boundary in former coalfield There have been several collieries here over the years. The sunken fields choked with wet reeds suggest to me that this is restored open cast land. The fence has been erected on a raised causeway which provides much better access than the fields either side.
