Vacation Serenity In A Quiet Neighborhood

Updated 1970's house, reminiscent of childhood vacations at the beach, provides a comfortable, relaxing home in a quiet south end neighborhood. Easy access makes it just a 2 minute walk to the beach and a hop and skip to view stunning sunsets over the sound. A bird sanctuary is a block away on the south tip of the island. Terns nest there during the summer. It's a great place for children to bike, scoot or skateboard on child friendly streets so between the beach, the sound, and the neighborhood, children can spend lots of time outside. Fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare fresh seafood dishes for a family meal. Open floor plan allows for ease of entertaining.
The 4 bedrooms supply 2 queen and 2 double beds with 2 full baths located between rooms. Enjoy ocean breezes while rocking in rocking chairs on the front porch, in the mornings with coffee, after a day at the beach with a beer or glass or wine, or star gazing at night. The carport entrance is covered in jasmine for delicious smells when it's blooming in June. Parking for up to 6 cars is a plus as parking on the side of the street is not allowed and guests can visit during the day without paying public parking fees. The house provides 2 TV's, wifi, dvd player, and a radio/CD player.
The utility room below supplies a washer and dryer, boogie board, skim board, sand toys and comfortable beach chairs. An outside charcoal grill makes it easy to cook while watching the sunset over the sound.
If you want to live a simple life of ease and relaxation on your vacation, this house and location is perfect.

Perfect family beach week

Nancy's beach house had everything a family could possibly need for a fun and relaxing beach week. The kitchen was well stocked, the beach gear was organized and ready to go, and Nancy was extremely responsive when we had questions. The house is an older beach cottage, but it's very clean and well maintained. Thank you Nancy for an old-fashioned, peaceful beach week with our loved ones.

Lovely stay. The location is fabulous and we (ages 17-89) thoroughly enjoyed spending time together in the roomy house and exploring the beach. Would love to stay here again.

Good location

The property is nice and in a good location. This was our second year in a row staying here and we had hoped to continue staying here. Unfortunately, after taking our reservation for next year, Nancy cancelled it because her niece wanted the week we booked. While it is a year out, it is very difficult to find good property in this area of Wrightsville beach, so it really puts us in a bind now.

Beautiful house

The property is very nice and well-kept. The location is fantastic! The owners are very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again when in Wrightsville beach.

Family Fun

Plenty of room for our family to gather in the open living/dining room or on the porch. Easy walking distance to the ocean or sound. Quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay!

Comfy Vaca!!

What an awesome stay. My family was visiting to celebrate my daughter’s graduation. The house was great! Really comfy, clean, and had everything we needed. Perfect location! Right at the beach, minutes from great food and shopping. Definitely a repeat stay! Owners were very nice and always responded quick to any questions. What a trip!

Meeting up with family beach vacation

Very nice, quiet neighbor. Walking from one side to the other….beach to intercoastal waterway just minutes. Very nice front porch. Beach stuff, chairs, wagons. Bicycles to ride in neighborhood. Walking distance to oceanic restaurant/ pier but far enough to be quite. South end of beach is beautiful especially with calmer waters for swimming

Great Vacation

We really enjoyed the home, but was disappointed to find that we needed to provide our own sheets and towels. This wasn’t made apparent in the initial online listing. We also were disappointed to find a roll and a half of toilet paper for 8 adults for 5 days. Had to go out and grab our own. Other than that, the house is a great location in relation to the island restaurants and beach access!

Great location, lots of fun extras for kids.

This house really does have everything you need. We really appreciated the extras for a smaller children: a stepstool in the bathroom, a hand-held shower attachment in the kid’s bathroom and lots and lots of extra toys downstairs. We had one day that was pretty rainy and we were able to entertain our three and a half year old the carport and on the deck. He especially loved the little wheelbarrow! We hadn’t stayed on this side of the island and it was just beautiful. The beach area between the two jetties almost looks tropical, the water is smoother and there are lots of shells to find. Walkability to the beach so nice, as is the intercoastal boat ramp/lookout - each only two short blocks away! Yes, the house is outdated as far as finishings but it does have everything you need and the bedrooms are restful. I liked the bamboo blinds with white curtains! Overall, our stay was great!

Short Walk to Beach & Inland Waterway

Located on quiet side street, very short walk to inland waterway and beach (the less crowded end). House itself was a little run down but as advertised. Dishwasher and refrigerator looked relatively new/updated. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of beach chairs/toys and indoor toys, games, books provided. Comfortable mattress (on the firm side, which husband and I appreciated) Cleaning crew, maintenance was a bit lacking - when we arrived there was still sand and hair in both showers, a broken glass in the cupboard and screen in one of bedrooms was half-torn out. Also first VRBO property I stayed at where bath towels not provided, but made do with our beach towels. Neighboring houses very close so may not be the place to go if you are looking for privacy. Price was reasonable though and good time was had by all.

Perfect house for almost anyone, and a great location!!!

This house is a perfect place for a relaxed vacation to the beach! It is cozy and comfortable, has two bathrooms, and can sleep up to 8-9 people. The outdoor shower is really nice and the landscaping and plants along the walkway made me feel like I was really somewhere tropical. Whoever owns this place must really have a green thumb! It has a nice open living area great for cooking and simultaneously socializing. While we stayed at the house, we ate most of our meals on the front porch. The jasmine lining the balcony smelled so good we just couldn't resist. Wrightsville beach has some of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen, especially the south end where this house is located. It's close enough to the beach bars and restaurants to bike, but the beaches on the south end are cleaner and less crowded as well as great for surfing and kite surfing. One of our favorite things to do in the evenings was walk 30 seconds to the sound side of the island and watch the beautiful sunsets. I would highly recommend this rental and would rent it again the next time I plan to take a trip abroad!

Nice House Except For Unwanted Guests

We had two families staying here, and we loved the set-up. 2 bedrooms on one side of the house, connected by a bathroom in the middle. Another 2 bedrooms on the other side of the house, also connected by a bathroom in the middle. Perfect for having the kiddos in one room and the adults in the other. The adults convened in the middle section of the house, the living room area, to play games when the kiddos were in bed. We loved the porch and rocking chairs outside for reading and chatting in the evenings. Unfortunately, there was a major ant infestation problem when we arrived. Not the first thing you want to arrive to after a 9-hour drive. Ants were all over the kitchen walls, in the kitchen cabinets, on the kitchen counter, in 2 of the bedrooms and 1 of the bathrooms. We had to buy 24 ant traps and put them all over the house. Owner did not provide any contact information, so I had to contact VRBO for that information. Once I called, the owner was very apologetic and offered to pay for a hotel room for the night. However, we were exhausted and didn't want to move all of our things to a hotel room, nor did we want the house exterminated, as we didn't want our families breathing in unhealthy chemicals. The owner's niece came and sprayed underneath the house where the ants get in, which was very kind. Unfortunately, the ants continued to return each evening, and even got into the pantry where we were storing our food. We had to throw out some food, and we packed up the rest and kept it away from the kitchen area for the rest of the stay. There were also 2 other dead bugs in the house upon arrival. Though the house was supposedly cleaned before arrival, the cleaning was not thorough enough. In addition to the ants, there was dirt behind and under furniture. 3 out of 4 bed mattresses also had yellowish stains on them and need to be replaced. The location was great (a few minutes to the beach), the lay-out was great, and the owner was friendly, but I cannot recommend this house. It was very inconvenient and disgusting to have to worry about our food, set up ant traps, and to wake up to an ant on one of our pillows. We have stayed at Wrightsville Beach before, and there are plenty of clean and comfortable options close to the beach. The owner offered to pay for the cost of the ant traps, but this house was not worth the $1500 we spent.

Wedding time!

Easy access to house. Well furnished well lite house. Very comfortable. Owner easy to get a hold of.... One thing sheets and towels are NOT provided. The owner does tell you that in an obscure place ( my opinion). The owner does give you a name of a company that provides the sheets and towels but they do not put the sheets on.. Very cute and cozy place!

Good house

The pictures can make it seem a little antiquated, which it is, but it's a beautiful house. It is very spacious and has a lot to offer, and the location is very good. The only complaint is that somethings were a little bit dirty, such as the comforters or the mattress. Even so, the house is great for the price.

Lightning Worlds

This was the perfect place for our two teams to call home while competing in the Lightning World Championships out of Carolina Yacht Club. Close, quiet and convenient. We enjoyed the camaraderie on the front balcony and grilling out (fresh caught fish) in the back yard, beach walks, sunrises, full moons and one spectacular thunderstorm.

Wedding week

Pros: House was great, beds very comfortable, water pressure/hot water was great, layout and well stocked large kitchen excellent, loved the porch and rocking chairs, great quiet street, neighbors very friendly, plenty of beach chairs and stuff, parking excellent. Overall excellent place to stay Cons: BBQ grill unusable, dirty and rusted/buried under stuff; dishes left in drain board and dishwasher, couple dead bugs in bathroom. Suggestions: 2nd refrigerator would be nice for 8 people, maybe on ground floor?
