Lodge at The Old Barracks

"Clean room, lots of stairs and no air conditioning if you are there in summer something to think about! Parking free and available behind the building. The convenience of the restaurants was the best part. We had breakfast included and it was amazing at the old barracks restaurant. There is also a great pizza restaurant below the rooms which is fairly fancy. Not open Mondays though. Would stay again."

"A nice modern hotel on the outskirts of town. Huge room well equipped but let down by housekeeping who failed to clean a hair from the shower floor and wall before we arrived. I decided to have a bath instead but there was no plug! Staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast was good."

"Nice hotel in good location. Good sized room and well maintained. Issue with shower not being hot enough - maintenance came twice but issue still not resolved to satisfaction. Staff were apologetic but still a bit annoying. Breakfast quite good but hotel seems to have a teaspoon shortage! Quite good bar meals at reasonable prices. Again, soup could have been hotter."

"The room was comfortable and clean. Was perfect for my visit. I wasn't really sure where to go when I arrived. You have to go inside the pub and talk to one of the staff to get the keys to the room. Also when I left, the pub was closed and nobody answered the phone so I just left the keys in the room. Other than that bit of confusion, there are several things anchored onto walls in the room (shower rack, radiator, etc) and it looks like the wrong mounts were used because they are coming out of the drywall. It didn't hamper the experience though. Would stay again."
