Lucky Charlie Lodge

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a perfect location to spend an early fall week. The house was comfortable with all the amenities of home. We saw an eagle on our first day, and one night coming back from dinner at the nearby Rustic Lodge, we saw 12 deer. The trip to Hayward for shopping and a visit to the Musky Museum was easy on well maintained roads. Enjoyed a visit to Ladysmith for a stop at the Dairy Queen, which we ate at the lovely park along the river. The sunsets were spectacular every night with a view from the lakeside fire pit. We had no problem with flies or mosquitoes, but did take advantage of the screened in porch for passing a few quiet afternoons enjoying the lake view. Our experience lived up to our expectations of a north woods getaway, and would recommend this rental to all.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy

Nice, but couple of things to note...

The house was super cute, and just what we needed in terms of space. Kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook meals, and it was spotless...property manager was a great communicator and took care of a couple of issues as quickly as she could. Two things to note: there is no air conditioning (which wasn't mentioned anywhere within the description). Maybe this is normal for homes 'up north' and would go without saying for those who frequent northern Wisconsin, but we were totally caught off-guard when told to just open the windows and run some fans. It got extremely muggy, hot, and uncomfortable a couple of the nights, especially in the upstairs bedrooms. Another thing is fishing off the dock was a huge bummer for our family, as that's one of the main reasons we pay extra to stay on a lake with a private dock (description states prime crappie and musky fishing off the dock...we caught a perch smaller than my index finger, and couple of tiny blue gills). If those things don't bother you, then it's great!
