A 820 square foot fully remodeled home with comfortable farmhouse decor in the woods offering serenity and privacy. A private bedroom with a queen size bed, comfortable living area, separate dining area, roomy kitchen with plenty of supplies for cooking and enjoying a meal on the outdoor patio, a bright and spacious bathroom, and a 55” Smart TV.

Sunset Hill is one of two charming houses located at the Texas Retreat. This farmhouse style home is perfect for up to four people** and offers everything for a perfect hideaway. One private bedroom sleeps two with a queen size bed. There is also a new, high quality sleeper sofa in the living room that sleeps two. **There is an upstairs loft that can sleep an additional two people in a queen size bed but is recommended for adolescents only, not for adults or young children. For those who need a little more room, Sunset Rock, a stylish studio home adjacent to Sunset Hill, comfortably sleeps two additional guests.

A propane grill is provided with basic grilling tools and outdoor bistro table and umbrella.

Enjoy the outdoors on the patio, a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine and amazing sunsets. Upon entering the newly remodeled home, guests are greeted with charming farmhouse decor and comfortable amenities. Looking for an outing, Sunset Hill is about 5 minutes from Wimberley’s Square, Blue Hole, Jacobs Well and Cypress Falls. The Square offers great little shops, chef styled cuisine and incredible swimming holes!

Take a drive to Canyon Lake and rent a boat or jet skis for a fun afternoon on the water. Check out the music calendar at Whitewater Amphitheater and rock out at a concert! Explore New Braunfels and Gruene and enjoy fabulous restaurants and live music. A day of tubing, kayaking, and rafting on the Guadalupe River is always fun. Families and children will especially love Schlitterbahn Water Park and Landa Park. Visit the over 240 shops at the San Marcos Outlet for an endless day of shopping.

Blanco has several popular attractions for outdoorsmen, historians, and foodies. Blanco State Park offers fishing, swimming, and hiking. For those interested in the historical Old West, The Buggy Barn has over 140 covered wagons. Real Ale Brewing Company offers guided tours and a taproom tasting experience.

Further down the road, spend the day exploring Fredericksburg. Travel to Wine Road 290 which offers 19 wineries, all within a few miles of each other. Visit one of Fredericksburg’s two amazing museums: the National Museum of the Pacific War and the Pioneer Museum. During the summer, make sure to stop by a fruit stand and grab some famous Fredericksburg peaches.

Nice location.

Very nice location outside of wimberly. Only downfall was ice machine didn’t work and was frozen. Also the entrance to the property was rough. The concrete had been broken and I basically had to get a running start with my truck to make it on the property to stop from spinning out on the gravel. But overall was very nice place to stay and we definitely want to come back.

Short get away

Very clean & efficient cabin with lots of charm. Quite a bit of hwy noise but quiet inside. We came for a short get away and the house is very close to Wimberley so plenty to see & do.

Great Get Away Location

My partner and I had an amazing stay at this wonderful home in the hills. I only wish we would've arrived earlier so we could've enjoyed more time there! The house, hot tub, and outdoor area were all top notch in cleanliness, delivery as pictured, and overall experience. I will DEFINITELY be staying with this host, at or near the house I stayed in, again in the near future. Happy travels!

Very Comfortable Place to stay!

It was a very lovely place to stay near to Wimberly and all it has to offer. Communication was excellent even on a holiday. There was a well-stocked kitchen to have Thanksgiving Dinner. It does need a can opener, cutting board and strainer. Otherwise, it was perfect to have our Military Granddaughter with us for a special time. Thank you and we hope to return.

Amazing stay. Almost 5 stars!! Would book again!

We absolutely loved our stay here for a couples weekend together. It was just the two of us but this could easily work for a small family as well. We would book here again in a heartbeat!! Our stay was almost perfect! Couple of small issues we had were ants in the kitchen and then a poorly draining shower that caused the shower to fill up very quickly. Other than that perfect! Even with those small issues we absolutely loved our stay.

Weekend getaway

The property was just as described, if anything it was more beautiful than the pictures. We were there for a weekend away to enjoy Wimberley and the house was a quick 10 minute drive into town. The only downside to the property is the level of road noise. Though the house is nestled on the hill and the view is nice, the highway noise is quite loud when sitting outside.

Sunset Hill

Beautiful property! The house is charming and conveniently located to Wimberly, local attractions, and wineries. It is right off a busy road, but if you’re inside you don’t here the noise from the road. Shower was slow to drain, and the hot tub might have needed more chemicals. I also could not locate any outdoor trash bins, so I had to bring my trash home. Overall though it was great. I would stay again!

Fantastic Home

The owner of the property had renovated it prior to our arrival. Instead of walking into an advertised pink home, it was modernized to a white and black one. The interior was fantastic with a farmhouse feel. It had everything we needed plus some. It was very comfortable relaxing and peaceful. The deck was awesome with a grill and outdoor chairs. There was also deer on the property. The location was about 5 minutes from downtown Wimberley. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable. Look forward to returning.

Very nice place

The place is absolutely gorgeous and looks just like the photos. They need to replace skillets and pots/pans. They are no longer non stick and so small. I had to go and buy a skillet in order to be able to cook. The gas stove looks pretty but lacks power. Even if you turn the temperature up or down, there is very little change in the flame. Cooking was not easily done on this stove and I am used to cooking with gas. Being 10 mins from town, being able to cook meals was important. Other than that, loved place and would definitely go back.

Cute & Cozy Country Cottage

We loved our stay at this property! It is very cute and cozy and had all the essentials. The scenery was gorgeous and we even were able to go for a short hike down the road which the kids really enjoyed. It was a very short drive to Wimberly and the grocery, about 5 min, which was also nice. We also enjoyed utilizing the fire pit. The first day we were there we saw over 10 deer! It was absolutely beautiful 🤩 Only small downfall was, as mentioned in a precious message, you do hear traffic throughout the day as the highway is very close. This tapers down in the early evening. Also, the second day we were there a trailer parked down under the property right below so there was no privacy as we thought there would be. Additionally, their sister house is also much closer than it appears in the photos. Overall, this little house works perfect for a couple or a small family (we brought our 2 young girls)!

Quick getaway

Nice for a quick trip to the area. Our son had been wanting to go to the river so this was a perfect location. I loved the look of the appliances and being able to have our own quiet space to relax after being out all day in the sun. I appreciated the board games and cards available. The listing says there’s a futon in the living room but it’s a nice comfortable couch with a pullout mattress and upstairs the listing says there are two inflatable mattresses but it’s one full/queen size bed and one large rectangular sleep sack with a rocker base. Our son really enjoyed sitting on it while scrolling through his phone. I only would suggest if you’re going to use the couch to make sure to request linens beforehand as they were missing on our arrival and it was after the management office had already closed. Maybe they can be stored in a chest by the sleep sack.

VRBO really cute, newer, great bed linens. AC/fans great on 104 degree days Great Grill and hot tub. 1) Hated the ant infestation at the sink - continuously fought for 3 nights, 2) inconsistent water pressure. Would be good for approx 20-25 minutes then none for about 45 min. 3) Must plug and unplug hot tub from wall receptacle outside which is dangerous especially when wet. 4) oven did not work - stove did however. 5) trash receptacle was not at our unit. Was at the smaller unit and always full . I wish I could give 4-5 stars but it is just the number of little things that made our 3 night - 4 day stay a little difficult/unpleasant . I loved this property. It was so beautiful and comfortable to stay in. Everything was labeled and came with a guide. I loved the that the tv could swivel. The couch bed was super comfortable but did creak really loud if you moved even an inch. The shower was amazing and offered two shower heads with different settings. (Very helpful when bathing toddlers...haha) I will, however, complain about the overgrown lawn, the broken drawer handle, and the lack of cleaning that happened before we came. One of the bed sheets was covered in ashy stuff. The floor and sink had crumbs. Thankfully when I brought up the broken bathroom handle, they were quick to send someone to fix it. The company was fast to answer if we needed them. If you do stay here, the cans for trash are hiding in the back. Its still a lovely property! Would definitely stay at again.

romantic getaway

Fun, convenient and peaceful. this property is in a beautiful area close to the conience of Wimberley. My wife and I stayed for a few days after a conference in San Antonio. it was perfect for a couple of nights.

Perfect Getaway

Sunset Hill was the absolute perfect getaway. The beds were comfortable, the decor was cozy and relaxing, and the outdoor space was just right. The house is only a few minutes from Wimberley square. The coffee pot uses only k-cups, so plan accordingly. We will definitely be back.

Our stay was excellent!

Everything about our stay was great! We had such an amazing time with the family! The only bad experience we had was when we arrived and couldn’t get into the property until staff came and opened the door for us. He stated something was off with the lock. Other than that, we enjoyed it and will come back again!
