Wilmington Range Chalet with river access

Escape to this handcrafted Adirondack-style log cabin on the banks of the Ausable River, just 5 minutes from Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort and steps from Wilmington town center. Built in 2013 by a lifelong local, this 2BR/2BA chalet blends rustic charm with modern comforts—ideal for families, couples, or nature lovers.
Rustic Luxury with Modern Touches
This 1400 sq ft log home features:
Real round-log exterior, cedar and pine interiors, hardwood floors

Large 12' x 24' riverfront deck and master balcony with direct Whiteface views

Gas fireplace, radiant in-floor heat, and a jacuzzi tub in the slate-and-cedar master bath

Fully equipped kitchen with stainless appliances

Open loft with twin bed and futon—ideal for a small family or lounge space

Sleeps up to 6 guests (Town of Wilmington permit)

Wake to the sound of the Ausable River, unwind by the firepit, or relax on Adirondack chairs under the stars. Canoes available for guest use (restrictions apply).

Nice Base in Willmington

The Chalet was a great location to base my hiking trip. Loved that I could sit and hear the river below but also get a pizza or gas easily in Wilmington. Cabin was clean and just as advertised and had everything i needed for a great stay. Johnathon was very helpful when needed and I had a great stay. Would definitely come again!

The perfect getaway

We rented this property multiple times so far and each time we get to know and love it even more. The views and overall atmosphere keep us coming back but overall the experience is always amazing. The cleanliness is something to make note of as well, the cleaning staff do a great job because each time we have rented this location it was obvious that they put a lot of time in to making the place feel clean and comfortable. Always a very high recommendation.

Wonderful!

Cozy log home in a nice location convenient to Whiteface and hiking trails! We enjoyed walking down to the river along the property staircase to see the nice view. We would love to stay here again!

Classic rustic cabin design

Cabin design reminded me of a family cabin from 60 years ago. Many rustic interior design elements that added to the feel. Great location for fishing, golfing, hiking and relaxing. Owner was very responsive. Great spot for fly fishing. Would like to return.

Perfect!

This house and our stay was fantastic. We came and stayed for our wedding and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The house is nicely Decorated and tucked back in the trees on a beautiful property. After our wedding we enjoyed taking our own pictures at the end of the day down by the water and up on the balcony with gorgeous views. 10/10 everything was great and we highly recommend!

Unbeatable views!

This cabin is exactly as advertised with amazing views from the balcony and deck and the furnishings complete the anesthetic perfectly. The owner is very responsive and check-in and out was seamless. The steps down to the river are very sturdy but might be hard for old or very young guests. At first arrival i was concerned it wouldn't be as remote as I had thought but despite being near other houses you feel completely remote in the back yard and have complete privacy. We'll be back!

Absolutely perfect

I have been a long time user of VRBO and this location was perfect for near by points of interest and property was above and beyond what we expected. Cabin was clean and set up to accommodate every type of visitor to fine detail and the views are extraordinary. Communication was great and property has easy access and parking. I have stayed in several cabins via VRBO and I have to say that this was the best by far and exceeded in every category. Would definitely recommend and if we are ever in the area again would do this location again.

Perfect Scenic getaway

My family and I had a great experience staying here for a week. Johnathan was very accommodating to ensure that my whole family+pets were able to stay comfortably. The best part of this property would have to be the mountain views and the river at the back of the property. Would love to stay again in the future.

Amazing

This property was just as advertised. Amazing views, cozy cabin and just secluded enough to give a proper sense of privacy but close enough to shops that you don’t feel out of place and there are things to keep you occupied. Would recommend it to 10/10

Adirondack Beauty

Wow! This place was beautiful!!! I'll start by saying, Johnathan - the owner, was awesome to deal with. He was quick to respond with any questions we had. We had no issues while staying at this cabin so, in terms of emergency or any emergent issues, we didn't have to contact anyone which is terrific! On a side note, Johnathan's photography is throughout the cabin. It's beautiful and gives this cabin a personal touch! The cabin itself was so clean and very well kept and so comfortable. And that view...OH MY!!!! The balcony off the main bedroom upstairs was our favorite spot (ours and our pup's). We were even able to sit on the balcony while it rained as there is a little overhang that gives it just the right amount of coverage in a downpour. This cabin is well appointed with anything you could possibly need. The steps to the river were a little steep so we didn't go down but a few times. That's alright though because you can hear the river from the cabin. It is so quiet and you hear no road noise, at all, even though you are close to town. And convenience, it couldn't be beat. We were within 2 minutes to terrific food (the pizza place in town was SO good). And we were within 20 minutes of Lake Placid. There's Whiteface Mountain up the road and within minutes or SO many amazing hikes. This cabin was amazing!!! We are so happy we chose to stay here and Johnathan rented his amazing cabin to us! We would love to stay here again at some point!!!

The cabin was great! The owner Jon was very quick to answer messages and the cabin was very clean and organized. We loved going down by the river to read. The owners even gave us wine for our honey moon! Would recommend anyone to stay!

Amazing

This is such a beautiful home in the most peaceful setting, a true oasis. My favorite feature is the upper deck, such a beautiful view of the stars at night and view of the mountains, right from amongst the trees. Inspiring and peaceful, would definitely stay again!
