"When we arrived, the only sign on the door was in Flemish. After using google translate, we tried all 3 bells as instructed but got no answer. We had to look up on Expedia to find the telephone number. The owner answered, and said a neighbour would be along shortly to let us in. He hung up on me whilst i was asking about the promised parking. The neighbour was pleasant but spoke only Flemish- i speak English, French, German, italian and Danish- so communication was hard. I had chosen this b&b...

"First up I’m fussy and never leave reviews unless the experience was exceptional. And this was. Thomas was the perfect host and the property was perfect. Thomas greeted us, made a dinner reservation for us and provided a wonderful breakfast. He helped to get our European roadtrip off to a lovely start. We will return. "

Instructions to get a key proved a bit baffling for jet-lagged senior citizens arriving after dark unfamiliar with the system used. Took us while to figure out how to turn on lights in part of the room with switches on the wires on the floor. Even then the bedroom seemed a bit dark at night, which would be wonderful for a romantic encounter, but is a bit of a problem for other...

"We stayed 3 nights March 2024 and it was absolutely fabulous! Our hostess made us very welcome, all spotlessly clean, fab breakfast and rolls to takeaway for lunchtime. It's a great location to pay your respects at the WW1 war graves and to visit the museums. Ypres is a wonderful town with excellent local restaurants, chocolate shops and obviously the Menin Bridge with the 8pm "Last Post" every evening. It was a shame that the bridge is currently covered for renovations but this didn't detract...

Un petit bemol sur la taille du lavabo qui est beaucoup trop petit et la tele qui ne fonctionnait pas (ca ne m'a pas dérangé vu que je ne la regarde pas). L'état general est en tous cas plus que convenable, propre et a proximité du centre."
