House by the Harbour - Nc500 Route
8/10 Good
"This property is in a fantastic location with absolutely stunning views, which were the highlight of our stay. It has amazing potential and could be a really lovely place with a little investment. Unfortunately, the property is looking quite dated in terms of décor. There were paint chips in several places, the walls were looking grubby, and overall it felt like it was in need of some TLC. The TVs are also quite old, and upgrading them to smart TVs would really improve the experience. We stayed as three adults, and as the beds in the bedroom couldn’t be separated into twins, one of us had to sleep on the living room sofa. It would be a great addition if the sofa could be replaced with a sofa bed to give more flexibility for different groups of guests. We only stayed for one night, which was fine for us, but personally we wouldn’t have wanted to stay any longer in its current condition. That said, the views are beautiful, and with a few updates this property could easily become somewhere we’d happily return to."

"Arrived at The Inn after a long journey and found the apartment to be first class, amazing views out to sea, great parking and facilities in and out of the apartment. Spotlessly clean and everything you can possibly need is catered for. Highly recommend."

Harbour House Bed & Breakfast

"1 night stay on my way to John O'Groats. Single room. The host welcomed me at check-in and gave me all the relevant details, plus asked if I needed recommendations for dinner etc. Breakfast needed to be ordered via a form and left on the desk by 9pm. Option to choose from various cereals, drinks, cooked items etc. Breakfast was delivered to the room on time and was very tasty. The room was well stocked with tea/coffee/biscuits etc. The bed was comfortable and clean. The bed linen felt like it had been washed a few too many times though - in fact I would say this sums up the building as a whole - everything works but it is a little bit tired. Perfectly adequate for me though! Private bathroom was across the hall from my room. Lots of space, plenty of hot water. Overall perfectly pleasant stay and I would use again."
