Check-in was supposed to be at 4PM but when we got there at 5PM, the room was not ready yet. We stayed at room 29 which was at the end of the hallway. We did not get any sleep at all due to the noise fron the train that comes every 30 mins and the footsteps from the hallway and floor above. Walss are paper thin. The room was bright even at night because of the light outside the window. The curtains are not black-out. It was like sleeping with the light directly on your face. Room was small. Except for the lady who checked us out, the other staff were not very helpful. If you want to get a restful night after or before a long day hike, don't bother staying at this hotel. Should be rated a 1 star hotel, not 5 star.

This is a charming chalet that’s adjacent to the west entrance of Glacier National Park. In the early 1920s it was popular to build chalet style hotels in “America’s Alps,” Glacier NP. It’s old fashioned, not stuffy and quite comfortable. If you’re highly sensitive to train sounds, this isn’t the place for you as the Northern Pacific runs nearby but we found the white noise machine more than adequate in blocking out the occasional train sound overnight. Ping pong, etc were a bonus. The staff is wonderful and accommodating. And did I mention the fine dining restaurant next door? Would certainly return!

It was right outside the West Glacier entrance, which was a plus for our hikes. It's a historic building so it's dated and it can be noisy if people walk late at night or talk in other rooms. You can hear everything. But again, it's right outside the park. There are many restaurants nearby, within walking distance. The hotel itself has a restaurant too.

Charming old property, no TV, no fridge. Not soundproofed. Walking distance to the little “village”, but need to drive to the park. Clean, comfortable bed. Front desk staff (abbey) VERY helpful with making reservations on the recreation.gov system for the national park. I’d stay again.
