Pico Dreams - Sportfish
10/10 Excellent
"We had a truly lovely stay at this charming guesthouse. The owner and her husband are without a doubt the sweetest people we met during our trip. On the morning of our departure, her husband even offered, completely on his own initiative, to drive us to the ferry. That level of kindness and hospitality is rare these days and deserves to be recognized.
The place itself is spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully arranged. There’s a warm, welcoming atmosphere throughout, with a beautiful common area where you can relax and unwind after a day of exploring. You can tell that a lot of care goes into maintaining the property, it feels like a home, not just a rental.
One of the highlights is the stunning view of Pico from the house. Waking up to that view each morning was a gift. Whether you’re enjoying your coffee outside or just soaking in the peace and quiet, the setting is perfect.
Everything was well-organized, from check-in to check-out. The room was comfortable, the linens were fresh, and all the small details were in place. It’s clear that the owners take great pride in what they do and it shows.
We would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a genuine, heartwarming stay in the Azores.

Enchanting view from the balcony of beautifully restored "Adega Baia do Canto".

"We loved this Adega and were so sad to leave! The house is lovely and well appointed. It is so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed listening to the waves from the porch. We really appreciated the washer and dryer! There is a nearby natural pool with bathroom and shower facilities that we had to ourselves. About 1 mile down the road is a little store that manages to stock anything you could want. We went each morning for coffee and pastry that we enjoyed with a view of the ocean. Pico is small enough that this location worked very well for exploring the island. "
"We spent just under a week at the house and loved it. Having dinner on the patio with an amazing view and the warm setting sun was just so relaxing. It was a short walk down to the natural swimming pool - a great place to enjoy the afternoon after a hike. We would definitely recommend this house. Helena was wonderful and very kind to accommodate our delayed arrival. "
"We were warmly welcomed by Miguel, the owner/manager of the place. We experienced a slight inconvenience with our room at arrival, but Miguel quickly offered us a solution, which was suitable and much appreciated. The view from the terrace was incredible! This is related to the town and not to the lodging, but for dining options, at the time of the year that we went (early June) there were not much choices. But overall, a good experience! :)"
"We had a fantastic stay at Pike Cliffs. The location was excellent, allowing us to easily get to Lajes for whale watching and the whaling museum, Madelena for the nearby vineyards (and best grocery store), and, of course to Mt. Pico, which my oldest daughter climbed. The terrain is unique and varied across the island, unlike anything we’d ever seen before. The view from Pike Cliffs was stunning, we never tired of looking over the fields and cows to the ocean. Check out the photos and you will see what I mean. Highly recommend the coastal park leading to Baia das Canas which is near to the house and C Bistro in Sao Roque which was the best restaurant we tried (especially if you like cats!) Francisco was very responsive and with three bedrooms and two full baths we had plenty of room so everyone had their own space. Highly recommend. "
"Fantastic location with rooms dotted around the garden. Our room was spacious, comfortable and simply furnished with an outside porch with seating area and access to the beach. There was also a kettle in the room! Would highly recommend the restaurant which is reasonably priced, popular with locals and serves with excellent food. We were there in March and had fortunately booked a table, because the restaurant was pretty full."
"Very unique property. Great view. Loved the layout of property.
For additional cost provided breakfast basket each day.
Town has a well stocked grocery store nearby.
Very picturesque village with a wonderful wine bar."
