My family enjoyed our time here! My kids loved the yard. There was everything we needed in the kitchen and I loved the coffee machine I would love to know the history of the home.
Second time staying in the cabin. It is delightful and cozy. We would certainly stay a third time. The dogs loved the fenced in yard where they can run freely. Everyone had a great time.
Linda is one of the most responsive hosts we work with. The home is full of character and clean. The bottle of wine is always a nice touch! We've stayed here twice and works book again!
Linda was a wonderful host. She treated us like family. The cabin so also very inviting as soon as you came through the door. Would definitely stay there again
Charming cabin with beautiful interior. Host was very responsive and accommodating for graduation party we had outdoors. It was a perfect garden setting to mingle and socialize. Very close to town too! Very happy with out stay.
This place has a lot of charm! It’s decorated nicely and has lots of upgrades. We loved the combination of new and rustic! The kids got a kick out of the slanted floors and the bidet! We had a great 2 night stay with 6 people. I highly recommend this cozy cabin.
Linda has an amazing little spot in Carroll County. It's close enough to Westminster to hop down and grab some supplies, but far enough from civilization to enjoy the wilderness. The neighborhood is quiet, the cabin is a cute little joy, and the bumble bees are a treat.
This little house was exactly as described! Our dogs loved the fenced yard...the house was well stocked and very clean. My husband and I are already planning when we can come again!
Linda was an amazing host and very flexible and responsive!
Thank you!!!
Everything was just as advertised. Serene, peaceful, and beautiful property. Short ride to Gettysburg, but also amazing enough to sit a round the firepit. Amenities were more than ample. Rustic, but all the modern things needed for a family of 5. We never even watched TV once, which is rare.
Wonderful experience for Gracie (my dog) and me. Linda was available whenever I had any questions. She also anticipated a guest’s every need! Truly able to unwind and disconnect ( I never even turned the tv on.)
I will be coming back here, and telling all of my friends about this very special place.
Thank you, Linda!
This cabin was just perfect! It was beautifully decorated with both the old & modern look. The cabin included all the cooking essentials we needed for our stay. The host was quick to respond with any questions. The place was super clean! We brought our 2 Golden Retriever girls with us & the fenced in field was perfect for playing fetch! They absolutely loved it! I loved the slanted floors & the old farmhouse appearance! I highly recommend this cabin! ❤️🐾🥰 The grocery store & other stores were only about 10 minutes away which was also great! I wish our stay was longer! Definitely will be back again! 💗
We enjoyed our long weekend at the cabin. The house was interesting and we got used to its quirks (low ceilings, slanted floors and steep staircase). The king sized bed was super comfortable. The refrigerator is small with other food in there but luckily they have a separate fridge in the cottage bedroom so we could fit our food. The immediate yard off the house is not fenced but is largely bordered by hedges. There is a separate fenced field that is secure. Our dog loved the yard and there was plenty of space for ball playing. The neighborhood was beautiful and the roads were quiet for walking. The first couple of days we used the electric fireplace for warmth in the living room, but at the end of our stay we took advantage of the outside furniture and the beautiful spring weather.
My husband I enjoyed our stay at Linda’s home. It was perfect for what we needed, as we were in town for a family celebration in Westminster. It is a historic home, so as a therapist, I have to say that it would not be good for someone with orthopedic or balance issues since it has stairs with no handrail to get to the bedroom, and some of the wooden flooring is uneven. However, for able bodied individuals it is a cozy, warm and comfortable stay! The kitchen and bathroom are both recently renovated, bright and cheerful. The king bed upstairs was very comfortable and with the blinds and curtains on all the windows, it’s easy to sleep late, which we appreciated! There is also a pull out bed in the upstairs bedroom with a curtain separating it from the king bed. One thing to keep in mind is that the other double bed is in an attached building, (which may have been the kitchen building historically, not sure). It is fixed up really nicely, but it is a bit musty just due to the nature of that building, so it may not be appropriate for everyone. The grounds around the home would be nice to hang out in, although we didn’t really get the chance while we were there. The kitchen is well-stocked with basics and spices so if you’d like to cook, this would be possible.
Thanks Linda for a wonderful stay, if we are back in the area again visiting family, we will be back!
We were at the cabin for an extended stay of 28 days. This was a work from home situation too. There are many impressive factors to staying there. It’s rustic in some respects with a highly slanted plank board floor upstairs. Rustic means that one should expect some bugs inside with an 1850s structure, in addition to the slant. However, this stay had everything we needed and more: Internet speeds and superior connectivity beyond what our own home has, mini-split AC in each room, outdoor security cameras, sun-drenched kitchen with peaceful sun rises and quiet. The kitchen is also well equipped with what one will need, including an espresso machine, electric kettle and washer/dryer too. There is a king bed upstairs and generous couches on both levels with a large Roku TV. We did not use the connected cottage but it did have a musty odor when we popped in to check out the space. The host is thoughtful, creative and responsive. We made certain to treat her home the way we would want our home treated. It is easy to notice things when staying for a longer period of time. There was mold and water collecting in the front load washer. We corrected that and let her know. The ants persisted under one kitchen door. I think that these issues simply need more maintenance checks, which can go unnoticed if an owner is not living there for a period. I do think that the structure can be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. Still fun, with some understandable flaws.

Definitely disappointing
From the minute we spotted the property, we were disappointed. It was located right on the corner road side of the property, car noise. It looked dilapidated, out-buildings especially. It’s an old house, so we expected some issues.
HOWEVER. I am short (5') and have bad knees. The steps onto the "breezeway" were so high I barely got up, even with a cane, walls to grab onto, and assistance from my family. It was even worse TRYING to get into the house itself. I simply couldn’t. Since the bathroom (very tiny) was in the house, I wouldn’t be able to use it.
So I thought my husband & I could sleep in the "cabin".
NO WAY!!! It was overwhelmingly musty, and having asthma, not possible for me.
I’m not the only one that had access issues. My brother-in-law had a bad time getting up too. He has a bad hip, making the entry stairs painful for him.
The rest of the property was okay, nice sitting area under the trees. But all in all, nothing like we expected from the description. We all felt it was misrepresented, or at least missing a few pertinent details (like the stairs).
All in all, way too tiny for more than two people. It should listed "possible access issues".
We never spent our allotted time there; we are in the process of trying to get at least 50% of our money back.
We were super excited to stay in such a charming historic cabin. Felt like staying at an old family homestead. The rental is furnished with absolutely everything you could possibly need if staying with dogs or family. We really appreciated all the character and thoughtfulness put into the property.
Linda is a wonderful host! She anticipated my needs, and was incredibly responsivewhen I had a question. The log cabin is warm and inviting, and the property is a dog Mommy's dream! I have every intention of staying here each time I return home.
We booked this rental because my husband and my 2 sons are both history buffs and it was my 15yr old's birthday. There were 6 of us and it was enough room for us to all have our space but be close as well. It was about a 30 minute drive to Gettysburg. We enjoyed the museum and all of the battlefields during the day and came back in the late afternoon to enjoy the historic property. My son dressed up in his Army outfit and ran around the rather large property exploring and "ghost hunting" while we enjoyed the fire pit. For someone that lives on the computer, I was so happy to see him outside playing. My 3yr old grandson was there as well and he had a ball running around. It was very safe. One of the bedrooms is actually a separate building with a covered breezeway connected to the house. That was where my husband and I stayed and everyone else slept upstairs in the main house. The floors are slanted but that really added to the character to this house that was built in 1850. Very beautiful inside and we will definitely be back.
