The hotel snd adjacent train whistle stop are about all there is to the tony hamlet of Morar. The options for getting to the larger village of Mallaig (2.75 miles away) are quite limited if you don’t have your own car. You can wait for the twice a day train, take your chances with the intermittently available single car for hire, or...

"The guesthouse and the host, Brian, were great.
Due to a booking error, I was able to book the accommodation even though they were closed.
Brian still gave us a warm welcome and upgraded our room free of charge.
He gave us tips for a good restaurant and even made a reservation for us!
The breakfast was delicious and lovingly prepared.

"The owner was very personable. I interrupted her Sunday evening meal and she still was happy to help me. I enjoyed room one, which I would change the name to the heart/hart room. I would “hide“ a few more hearts/harts for guests to find and offer a Scottish keychain as a prize if they found them all, perhaps like the one that came with the key to the room. Threse made my stay relaxing and comfortable, just what I needed."

"Well-appointed cottage that was once a stable block. Very nicely renovated with all the essentials that you need in a vacation home. Welcome pack (including a small bottle of milk!). Comfortable bed. Wood burning stove plus electric heaters. Set on its own behind the main house, it is visited by sheep grazing on common land and deer coming down to visit. Beautiful part of the country and well recommended for those wanting tranquility and calm (no tv!). "
