Enjoy all of the beauty and excitement that the Adirondacks have to offer in the winter in your own cozy log sided cabin. Grill outside on your charcoal BBQ, make s’mores in the stone fire pit, take a refreshing three mile walk through the quaint Hamlet of Wells and around Lake Algonquin or just curl up with a good book in your warm and comfy cabin.

Set on a hill in the edge of the woods overlooking Lake Algonquin a newly constructed cabin with all new appliances and furnishings. One bedroom with a full size bed and two twin beds in the loft. One bathroom with tub and shower and washer/dryer. Fully furnished modern kitchen with stainless electric stove, microwave and refrigerator. Living room with 32” flat screen TV , Dish Network, WiFi and furnished with unique Adirondack style furniture.

Located in the heart of the southern Adirondacks, Ruby Hill is 15 minutes from Oak Mountain Ski Area , 30 minutes from Gore Mountain and 20 minutes from Lapland Lake Cross Country Ski Area. There are also numerous trails nearby for snowshoeing, hiking and cross country skiing.



We provide an ideal cabin for those who want to experience an Adirondack getaway in the woods with the convenience of nearby winter activities. An experience that will keep you coming back year after year.

* Please keep in mind that the weather in the Adirondacks can be unpredictable. Although we are diligent when it comes to plowing and sanding, vehicles that do not handle slippery roads well may have difficulty getting up the hill to the cabin.

Perfect cabin in a beautiful setting

The cabin was clean and cozy. I loved the screened in front porch with the view of the mountains. Everyone loved the kayaks and the closeness to the beach. And the hosts were great, making our check in and out so simple. We had a perfect vacation.

I’d call it Awsome

This cabin is wonderful in every way. I will definitely return. We stayed in February for a winter snowmobile and snowshoe hiking vacation. I’m coming back for a summer vacation too. The lake is right across the street! The proprietor is a friendly gentleman and provides a great experience.

Pleasant Stay

Two cabins are tucked up against endless woods. There weren't any leaves on the trees so we had a nice view of Lake Algonquin. We brought our own kayaks & had an easy launch at the town beach less than 2 blocks away. There are no chain stores only local. A great rival to Starbucks called Uncle ?? across the bridge & had an awesome dinner at The Alpine. The cabin is smaller than expected, probably because there are so many places to sit & pillows.

Wonderful Wells Getaway

Highly recommend this cabin. The cleanliness and decor were beyond expectation and location was fabulous. There is a second rental cabin which is visible about 80 yards away but this did not hamper our stay. Hosts were good to work worth but also gave us our privacy. We were also happy to have access to the canoes and kayaks as well as the bonfire pits. Would stay again.

Relaxing get away.

Nice and clean cabin. Owners were great! There is two cabins and they are kind of close but the people staying next to us were quiet and respectful. Easy walk to the lake. The steps are steep to get to the kayaks but doable. We would definitely do it again.

Fabulous getaway!

We really enjoyed this peaceful gem in the woods, and we are looking forward to booking another stay in the future. A great getaway

This cabin is perfect for a laid back getaway. Great hiking, swimming, and fishing. The cabin is very clean and comfortable. The property is good for grilling, cornhole and relaxing by the fire pit. It was our second stay at this cabin. It was perfect both times.

Love and look forward to our stay at Ruby Hill Cabins every year. Love the proximity to fishing for my nephew. The availability of kayaks and canoes. Only 2 cabins there and you feel very snug and secluded in the woods even though you are so close to everything. Gerry & Susan are very responsive to messages and needs while you are there. We will be back next year!

Great getaway for two

The cabin was immaculate. We were able to go to Lake George and Saratoga, it was a drive but very beautiful and scenic. We spent our evenings on the screened in porch playing cards and relaxing. Just make sure you bring all your food. There’s a small local mercantile that has essentials and take out (they make the best hero sandwiches) but make sure you have what you need or you’ll be traveling . The host was kind enough to let us know so we were prepared. A wonderful quiet place if you are looking to unwind and relax!
