"Great location, right next to the Main Street where all the restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is more of a guest house. Rooms are very basic - but very large. Can easily accommodate 4 people. Breakfast is either sri-lanken or western, they are very generous with the quantities. If you are looking for a 4/5 star hotel - it’s not the place for you. It is a low budget option for families who prefer that kind of experience. We enjoyed :)"

"You'll have to step onto a narrow path that sometimes goes up, sometimes goes down, takes a turn or two to the left, to the right, to finally emerge in front of "Silver Dome Guest House". Mind the map to arrive there for taking a wrong turn is easily done, especially during night time. "Amba Kola is simply fantastic. I stayed with my teenage son and it was the highlight of our trip. The cooking class with Swarna was wonderful and my son loved it. Spending two hours with this lovely lady and brilliant cook was a privilege and the 9 course meal we prepared was gorgeous. It's a family run hotel and they couldn't be more helpful, you feel like one of the family. They also do safari tours too in their own safari jeep, and are just minutes from the park gates."

"Cabanas located in trees - you are literally sleeping outside. Different experience, but nice. Be aware that animals may enter, and the river is very close by, so maybe not so good for people who needs complete silence to sleep. Staff very helpful and nice!"

"We had a wonderful time at the guest house. The business seemed family run and was warm and welcoming. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts were fantastic. They had on site scooter rental which was very convenient to help us get around. The views were just stunning. "
